The COROS PACE Pro is a same-brand option, while the Forerunner 570 offers a midrange Garmin comparison. What to look for in a PACE 4 Pro alternative
Start with the feature that matters most in your running. A watch can offer offline maps without letting you build a route on the watch; a long battery estimate may depend on a lower-accuracy GPS mode or disabled sensors. Size, display, training and recovery tools, and connected features also separate these options.

For context, COROS lists the PACE 4 Pro at 43 g, with dual-frequency GPS, offline maps, turn-by-turn navigation and up to 60 hours of GPS battery life. It has a 1.47-inch AMOLED display rated at 3,500 nits, with a titanium-alloy bezel and sapphire glass. These are manufacturer specifications, and battery life varies with features and settings. Suunto Race S: compact watch with offline maps
Consider the Suunto Race S if you want offline maps and route or breadcrumb navigation in a compact performance watch. Its battery estimates span very different GPS modes: up to 30 hours at maximum multi-band accuracy, or up to 120 hours in Tour mode with lower GPS accuracy and heart rate disabled. Those figures are not equivalent endurance options for the same tracking setup. Suunto also estimates up to 9 days of daily use with heart rate enabled and wrist-raise screen activation, or 13 days with daily heart rate disabled. Suunto Race S specifications

Polar Vantage M3: dual-frequency GPS and training tools
The Polar Vantage M3 combines dual-frequency GPS with downloadable offline maps, planned routes and breadcrumb guidance. Polar also positions it around training and recovery features. It weighs 53 g and has a 1.28-inch AMOLED display. Battery estimates are up to 30 hours in Performance Training mode, 70 hours in Eco Training mode and 7 days in smartwatch mode; the modes should not be treated as identical GPS conditions. Garmin Forerunner 970: routable maps and connected features
The Forerunner 970 is the stronger fit if you want routable offline maps and broader connected features. Tom’s Guide describes its maps as capable of creating routes on the watch; in its comparison, COROS maps are an overlay and routes are prepared on another platform. That distinction is about route planning, not whether the PACE 4 Pro has offline maps—it does. Tom’s Guide comparison

COROS cautions: “All battery claims depend on feature usage such as music, backlight, navigation, and many other factors; actual results will vary.” Treat advertised maximums as mode-dependent estimates, not a promise of a particular race-day runtime. COROS battery statement
What one head-to-head test can—and cannot—tell you
Tom’s Guide’s reviewer compared GPS tracks from the Forerunner 970 and PACE 4 Pro, including runs and races, and reported broadly similar GPS performance in that reviewer’s use. The same reviewer observed occasional brief PACE 4 Pro heart-rate spikes against chest-strap readings, while both watches were generally close. These are individual hands-on observations, not a controlled result that establishes which watch will be more accurate for every runner or condition. Tom’s Guide head-to-head account
