If you want a square G-Shock that stands out more than a standard DW-5600, start with two very different options: the DW-B5600G-2 has a translucent graduated blue case and band, while the DW-5600RW-1 keeps the familiar 5600 look and adds rainbow color-shifting glass. Choose the first for color across the watch; choose the second for a subtler, light-catching face detail.

How the color treatments differ
Translucent color across the case and band
The DW-B5600G-2 makes its color noticeable at a glance: blue is carried through the translucent, graduated case-and-band treatment. The DW-B5600G series also adds Bluetooth smartphone linking, so it is not simply a standard DW-5600 in a different color. Casio lists shock resistance and 200-meter water resistance for the DW-B5600G-2.

Rainbow color on the glass
The DW-5600RW-1 leaves the square case as the familiar visual anchor and puts the variation on the glass. Casio describes the rainbow vapor deposition as a finish whose hues shift with the light; each glass has its own gradation. That means the effect is a changing face detail, not a rainbow-colored case and band.

A metal-bezel direction
The GM-5600RW-1 is worth checking if you want the rainbow glass treatment in the GM-5600 family’s more dressed-up metal-bezel style. Do not assume its material or features match another 5600: confirm them on the product page for your region.

What to compare before buying
- Color placement: choose translucent case-and-band color for an all-over effect, or rainbow glass if you want color concentrated on the face.
- Shape: the 5600 is the closest visual match to the DW-5600. Casio’s 2100 series has a different octagonal analog-digital shape, so it is an alternative only if you are willing to move away from the square look.
- Construction: Casio describes the 5600 family as resin-case watches and the 5000 family as continuing stainless-steel case construction. Some 5600 models pair a resin case with a metal bezel. Check the individual model rather than inferring construction from the series name.
- Functions and power: Bluetooth, solar charging, and Multiband 6 appear in different combinations across the broader 5600/5000 families. Verify each feature on the exact model listing; the two bold-color treatments do not necessarily share a module or power system.
- Fit and price: compare the regional listing’s dimensions, weight, band material, and current price. Casio’s 5600/5000 shopping page provides filters for comparison.

Casio’s US listing for the DW-B5600G-7, a translucent color variant, showed it as sold out when that page was retrieved; that status can change and does not establish availability elsewhere. Treat price, stock, and regional assortment as time-sensitive. Confirm the exact model on Casio’s local site and check retailer stock before deciding.
The manufacturer pages establish the listed specifications and finishes, but they are not independent performance tests. Use the model-specific listing for current details rather than assuming that every watch in a series shares the same features.
