Checked August 18, 2026: The best visible Garmin discounts are on older and mid-generation watches, including the Vivoactive 5 at about $194, the Instinct 2 at $199, and the Enduro 2 at $499. Prices, stock, colors, sellers and checkout discounts can change quickly. The “up to 47%” claim is not used here because the currently visible prices do not independently confirm it.
This list covers fitness watches, running watches, rugged outdoor models, a hybrid watch and lifestyle-focused Garmins. The largest percentage discount is not automatically the best watch: choose based on GPS, training features, battery, screen, size and smartwatch limitations.

Garmin Vivoactive 5 — about $194, was $299
Calculated discount: about 35% using the displayed former price.
#1 Best Overall
- Designed with a bright, colorful AMOLED display, get a more complete picture of your health, thanks to battery life of up to 11 days in smartwatch mode
- Body Battery energy monitoring helps you understand when you’re charged up or need to rest, with even more personalized insights based on sleep, naps, stress levels, workouts and more (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)
- Get a sleep score and personalized sleep coaching for how much sleep you need — and get tips on how to improve plus key metrics such as HRV status to better understand your health (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)
- Find new ways to keep your body moving with more than 30 built-in indoor and GPS sports apps, including walking, running, cycling, HIIT, swimming, golf and more
- Wheelchair mode tracks pushes — rather than steps — and includes push and handcycle activities with preloaded workouts for strength, cardio, HIIT, Pilates and yoga, challenges specific to wheelchair users and more (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)
Buy this if: you want an affordable everyday fitness watch with an AMOLED screen, health tracking and a wide selection of sports profiles. It is the most balanced deal here for general fitness, walking, gym sessions, sleep tracking and everyday notifications.
Skip this if: you are a serious runner who needs deeper training analytics, extensive navigation or a performance-first interface. If the newer Vivoactive 6 is only slightly more expensive, compare its newer hardware and feature set before choosing clearance stock.
Smartwatch limits: It should not be treated as an Apple Watch replacement for full voice, messaging or cellular independence. Garmin’s strengths are battery life, GPS and fitness data rather than phone-like communication.

Verdict: Buy when the sub-$200 price is live and the seller is authorized or offers clear U.S. warranty and returns.
Garmin Instinct 2 — $199, was $349
Calculated discount: about 43%.
Buy this if: you want the least expensive credible Garmin for hiking, camping, outdoor training and rough daily wear. Its rugged construction, outdoor-focused interface, Garmin Connect support and Garmin Pay make it more capable than a basic activity tracker.
Skip this if: you want a bright AMOLED display, newer sensors or the latest Instinct features. Its monochrome design is practical outdoors but less watch-like than a Vivoactive or Venu.
Generation note: This is an older model. A large discount is less attractive if the unit is refurbished, sold by an unknown marketplace seller or only available in an unwanted size or color.
Verdict: The best cheap Garmin for rugged use if the new-unit price is genuinely $199.

- Designed with a bright, colorful AMOLED display, get a more complete picture of your health, thanks to battery life of up to 11 days in smartwatch mode (5 days display always-on)

Garmin Instinct Crossover Solar — $279, was $449
Calculated discount: about 38%.
Buy this if: you want mechanical hands over a digital display while retaining GPS, NFC payments and outdoor tracking. The cited coverage gives Garmin’s maximum battery claim as up to 70 days with solar assistance.
Skip this if: you want the quickest possible workout interaction, a conventional full-screen smartwatch or a slim case. Analog hands can be less convenient during exercise, and solar claims depend on light exposure and settings.
Verdict: A distinctive hybrid deal, not the default choice for runners or people who prefer a modern AMOLED watch.
Garmin Instinct E — $249, was $299
Calculated discount: about 17%.
Buy this if: you want an entry-level rugged Garmin and prefer a newer option to the heavily discounted Instinct 2. The cited maximum battery claim is up to 16 days in smartwatch mode.
Skip this if: you want premium materials, maps or flagship-level outdoor features. At only about 17% below the displayed former price, it is less compelling than the Instinct 2 unless generation, availability or features matter more than absolute value.
Verdict: Consider it only after comparing the live price with Instinct 2 and Instinct 3 stock.
Garmin Venu X1 — $689, was $799
Calculated discount: about 14%.
Buy this if: you want a large 2-inch AMOLED screen, a slim premium lifestyle design and Garmin’s health and fitness features for office-to-gym use. See Garmin’s current smartwatch catalog for the product family context.
Skip this if: your priority is maximum value or advanced outdoor performance per dollar. A 14% reduction is modest, and discounted Venu, Forerunner or older premium models may offer better value depending on your activity.
Rank #3
- Easy-to-use running watch monitors heart rate (this is not a medical device) at the wrist and uses GPS to track how far, how fast and where you’ve run.Special Feature:Bluetooth.
- Battery life: up to 2 weeks in smartwatch mode; up to 20 hours in GPS mode
- Plan your race day strategy with the PacePro feature (not compatible with on-device courses), which offers GPS-based pace guidance for a selected course or distance
- Run your best with helpful training tools, including race time predictions and finish time estimates
- Track all the ways you move with built-in activity profiles for running, cycling, track run, virtual run, pool swim, Pilates, HIIT, breathwork and more
Verdict: Buy for the screen and design, not because it is the strongest percentage deal.
Garmin Fenix 7X Pro — $699, was $999
Calculated discount: about 30%.
Buy this if: you want a prior premium outdoor watch with advanced multisport capability, navigation-oriented features and a large case.
Skip this if: you need the newest generation, have a small wrist or mainly want sleep and general fitness tracking. Compare the price with current Fenix and high-end Forerunner models; newer watches may offer newer sensors and a longer software-support runway.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteVerdict: Potentially strong value for serious outdoor users who understand they are buying previous-generation hardware.
Garmin Enduro 2 — $499, was $1,099
Calculated discount: about 55% using the displayed former price.
Buy this if: you specifically want long-distance endurance features, navigation, a flashlight and exceptional battery capacity. The cited Garmin maximums are up to 150 hours in GPS mode or 46 days in smartwatch mode, depending on configuration and use.
Skip this if: you have a small wrist, want a light everyday watch or prefer the newest hardware. The former flagship price may make the discount look larger than the value difference versus a newer Enduro model.
Battery qualification: GPS mode, music, notifications, pulse-ox tracking, screen settings, sensors, temperature and satellite conditions can reduce the maximum substantially.
Rank #4
- Make a bold statement with this rugged midsize 45 mm GPS smartwatch, featuring up to 16 days of battery life
- 10 ATM water-rated and engineered to MIL-STD-810 for thermal and shock resistance
- Know your body better with health monitoring features, including wrist-based heart rate, advanced sleep monitoring, Pulse Ox and more (this is not a medical device, and data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked; Pulse Ox not available in all countries)
- Navigate confidently with a 3-axis compass, barometric altimeter and multi-GNSS support
- Stay connected with smart notifications and Connect IQ Store integration, which allows you to download new apps and watch faces (when paired with your compatible smartphone)
Verdict: The standout percentage bargain for endurance athletes, but overkill for casual fitness.
Garmin Lily 2 — $249
Discount: not calculable because the cited deal listing did not show a former price.
Buy this if: you want a small, discreet lifestyle and health tracker. Its cited 34mm face makes it a better fit for small wrists than many full-size Garmin watches.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Skip this if: you run or cycle without carrying a phone. The Lily 2 has no built-in GPS and requires a phone for route tracking.
Verdict: A style-and-size choice, not a bargain to judge by percentage discount or a substitute for a dedicated running watch.
Garmin Vivoactive 6 — $299
Discount: not calculable because the cited roundup did not show a former price.
Buy this if: you want a current general-fitness GPS smartwatch with a bright display, broad health tracking and numerous activity profiles. The cited coverage lists 80 fitness modes, heart-rate and HRV-related tracking, blood-oxygen tracking, women’s health features, stress tracking and Smart Alarm. TechRadar describes it as weighing 36 grams with its strap.
Skip this if: you want premium materials, a voice assistant or AI-style smartwatch features. It is a fitness watch with smart functions, not a full Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch alternative.
Best Value
- Make a bold statement with this rugged GPS smartwatch, featuring a 0.9” display with solar charging lens and unlimited battery life with solar charging (assumes all-day wear with 3 hours per day outside in 50,000 lux conditions)
- Engineered with a supertough 45 mm fiber-reinforced polymer case and metal-reinforced bezel
- Built-in LED flashlight with variable intensities and strobe modes gives you greater visibility in the outdoors and provides convenient illumination when you need it
- Know your body better with health monitoring features, including wrist-based heart rate, advanced sleep monitoring, Pulse Ox and more (this is not a medical device, and data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked; Pulse Ox not available in all countries)
- Navigate confidently with a 3-axis compass, barometric altimeter and multi-band GPS with SatIQ technology, which delivers superior positioning while also optimizing battery life
Verdict: Choose it over the Vivoactive 5 when the price gap is small and newer hardware is worth paying for; choose the 5 when maximum value matters.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Running deals: Forerunner 55 versus Forerunner 165
The Forerunner 55 is the value running choice when the previously reported $129 price is live. That July price was listed as $129 versus $199.99, or about 35% off, but it must be rechecked because it is historical rather than a guaranteed August price.
The Forerunner 165 is the better upgrade for runners who want a more modern display and a more capable running experience. An accessible Best Buy catalog snapshot showed a $249.99 price signal, but the page should not be treated as a final live-price confirmation. Neither should automatically be called the best Garmin for advanced marathoners: Garmin’s current running range also includes higher-tier Forerunner models such as the 570 and 970.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Which Garmin should you buy?
- General fitness and sleep: Vivoactive 5 for value or Vivoactive 6 for newer hardware.
- Running: Forerunner 55 for the lowest price, Forerunner 165 for a more modern experience.
- Hiking and rugged outdoor use: Instinct 2 for price, Instinct Crossover Solar for hybrid styling, or Fenix 7X Pro for deeper premium features.
- Marathon, triathlon and serious multisport: Compare the Forerunner and Fenix families rather than buying the biggest discount blindly.
- Longest battery life: Enduro 2, provided its size and older generation are acceptable.
- Premium everyday display: Venu X1.
- Small wrists: Lily 2 for discreet lifestyle tracking, but use a GPS-equipped model for phone-free route tracking.
- Golf: Look at Garmin’s Approach range rather than assuming a general-purpose Vivoactive or Instinct is the right tool.
- Children: Garmin’s Bounce range is the relevant product family.
- Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch alternative: Vivoactive 6 or Venu models are the closest lifestyle-oriented choices, but Garmin generally prioritizes battery, health and sports tracking over calls, voice assistants, cellular service and deep messaging.
Garmin separates its catalog into running, health and fitness, outdoor recreation, multisport, swimming, diving, golf and kids’ categories. The product type matters as much as the discount.
How to verify a Garmin deal before buying
- Match the exact variant. Check case size, band color, material, music support, sapphire or solar configuration and included accessories.
- Check the seller and condition. Confirm whether it is new, refurbished, renewed, open-box or clearance stock. On marketplace pages, verify the seller identity, fulfillment, return window and warranty.
- Read the price reference carefully. A “was” price, comparable value and manufacturer MSRP are not necessarily the same. The percentages above are calculations from the displayed former prices, not universal MSRP claims.
- Check the checkout total. Coupons, memberships, limited-time codes and shipping can change the effective price.
- Confirm GPS type. Built-in GPS works without a phone for route tracking; connected GPS uses the phone. Lily 2 is the important exception in this list.
- Check the features you actually need. Confirm Garmin Pay, music storage, maps, flashlight, voice functions, calls and emergency features on the exact model.
- Compare generations. A discounted Fenix 7X Pro or Enduro 2 may have better hardware value, while a newer midrange watch may offer newer sensors, software features or longer support runway.
- Review software support. Check Garmin’s current wearables software-update information and the model’s support page before choosing old clearance hardware.
How the discounts were calculated
For a displayed former price, the calculation is:
(former price − current price) ÷ former price × 100
For example, $349 to $199 is approximately 43% off, while $1,099 to $499 is approximately 55% off. These calculations do not prove that the former price was the watch’s universal MSRP or that the same price applies to every variant.
