It comprised two lines—BMW and BMW M Motorsport—with 15 listed models. BMW’s itemized euro prices ran from €169 to €329, although the same release’s summary text gives a conflicting upper figure of €439.
Who made the 2019 BMW watches?
BMW announced the collection in cooperation with Fossil Group, which was responsible for the design, development and distribution of BMW-branded watches and smartwatches under a licensing agreement announced in 2018. Fossil Group said at the time that the agreement was expected to run through 2023; that historical term does not establish current rights or availability. BMW’s 21 March 2019 announcement introduced the watches for summer 2019. Fossil Group’s 2018 licensing announcement describes the agreement.
These were official BMW-licensed products, but Fossil Japan’s April 2019 announcement distinguished them from watches sold through BMW authorized dealers. Its planned early-May launch through Amazon.co.jp was specific to Japan and is historical—not evidence that any model remains in stock or is currently sold through an authorized channel.
How did the BMW and M Motorsport lines differ?
BMW Collection
The standard BMW line was styled for everyday wear, with colors drawn from BMW and its cars: blue, silver, red, black and cashmere. BMW described options including three-link stainless-steel bracelets and premium leather straps. The models ranged from a smaller 34 mm example to 42 mm watches in the Japanese-market specifications published by Fossil Japan.

BMW M Motorsport
The M Motorsport line used more overt racing cues. BMW described steel or silicone straps, including silicone with tread detailing, and racing chronographs with knurled top rings and Motorsport stripes. Fossil Japan’s regional examples included silicone-strap models and black-steel chronographs. These details apply to the cited Japanese announcement and should not be assumed to describe every regional variant.
Which models were in the BMW 2019 watch collection?
BMW’s March 2019 release listed eight BMW Collection models and seven M Motorsport models. The table gives BMW’s suggested retail prices in euros as published at launch; they are historical recommended prices, not current resale or asking prices.

Why do some accounts give a €439 top price?
BMW’s release prose says the collection ranged from €169 to €439, but its itemized prices for all 15 named models top out at €329, for BMW8001 and BMW8003. The release does not assign €439 to a model. For a specific named watch, the itemized price is the supported figure; the discrepancy remains unresolved in the announcement.

The launch announcements establish the historical lineup and launch channels, not present-day inventory, seller status or resale prices. Anyone considering a listing should verify the exact model number, condition and seller independently; a historical BMW license does not establish that a current listing is BMW-authorized dealer stock.
