These three Breguet pocket watches belong to different categories: an antique tourbillon reported in an exhibition discussion, a modern replica of a watch completed in 1794, and the current Classique 1907BA/12/ with published specifications. They should not be treated as interchangeable examples of the same watch—or authenticated by appearance alone.
How the three Breguet pocket watches differ
| Watch | Identity and date | What the evidence establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Regulateur A Tourbillon No. 2567 | Antique watch reported as dating to 1812 | A 2013 exhibition discussion identifies it as a Breguet Museum collection object and describes it as a hunter-case tourbillon. This is secondary reporting, not an official catalog entry for the object: TimeZone exhibition discussion. |
| No. 5 replica | Modern reproduction of a pocket watch completed by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1794 | WatchTime describes the replica as a faithful reproduction; it is not the original No. 5: WatchTime’s 2016 account. |
| Classique 1907BA/12/ | Current product reference with modern published specifications | Breguet lists its construction and movement specifications on the official product page. |
What is known about the antique No. 2567?
A 2013 discussion of a Breguet tourbillon exhibition identifies “Regulateur A Tourbillon, No. 2567 (1812)” as part of the Breguet Museum collection and calls it a hunter-case masterpiece. That supports a cautious description of the watch as an antique hunter-case tourbillon reported to date to 1812. The precise identification is not corroborated here by an official Breguet collection record, so the forum account should not be presented as a verified catalog entry.
The discussion provides no basis for using styling, a complication, or a number on a watch as proof that another object is No. 2567 or an authentic antique Breguet. Identification and authenticity require evidence about the specific object.
What does the No. 5 replica reproduce?
WatchTime’s 2016 coverage describes a modern replica of the pocket watch Abraham-Louis Breguet completed in 1794. The date belongs to the historical original; the replica is a separate, modern object. Calling it a replica matters: it should not be mistaken for the original No. 5, and its existence does not establish the provenance or authenticity of another Breguet-signed watch.

What are the specifications of the Classique 1907BA/12/?
Breguet’s product page describes the 1907BA/12/ as a pocket watch with a grande sonnerie and tourbillon. Its manual-winding caliber 508 GS has 525 components, runs at 2.5 Hz and is specified with a 56-hour power reserve. The case is 57.9 mm in diameter and 22 mm thick, made of 18K rose gold, with a sapphire caseback. Breguet lists the watch as not waterproof.

Dial and complication layout
Breguet places the tourbillon at 4:30, held by a single arm, and the striking hammers at 7:30. Hours appear off-center at 12, while minutes are shown at the center. Twin secret covers conceal the dial and movement assembly. These details describe the modern 1907BA/12/; they do not establish anything about the identity of an antique watch.
Price and availability
Breguet says the recommended retail price is available by contacting a point of sale. The official product information does not provide a price, and the specifications alone do not establish current availability.

How to identify and authenticate an inherited Breguet pocket watch
Start by documenting the watch rather than drawing conclusions from its appearance. Record visible signatures, numbers, case details and any accompanying paperwork; clear photographs of the dial, case and movement can help an expert assess what it is. Avoid treating a complication or resemblance to a famous Breguet design as authentication.
- Separate identification from valuation. A reference or historical resemblance is not proof that an individual watch is genuine, nor does it establish its market value.
- Ask Breguet about examination of an antique signed watch. Breguet says its Museum can examine antique watches bearing the Breguet signature and may confirm authenticity and provide historical information such as specifications, sale date or first owner from the Maison’s records. See the Breguet Records page for the service details.
- Keep record registration distinct from authentication. Breguet states: “Registration in the Breguet Records and authentication of a timepiece are two distinct procedures.” Registration for modern watches is limited to eligible first owners who bought from an official boutique or authorized retailer and submit the required information; it is not the antique authentication process.
- Do not treat an authentication response as an appraisal. Breguet says its authentication service does not provide monetary valuation. A separate valuation question requires an appropriate valuation professional.
Breguet says its historical records have been maintained since the Maison’s foundation in 1775 and document timepieces, commissions, sales and owners. Whether a particular watch can be matched to those records depends on the object and the records available; the service description does not promise a specific result for every inquiry.
