Breitling’s Navitimer Automatic and Superocean Heritage Automatic are reported to be arriving in new 36 mm versions that pair stainless steel with 18k yellow gold. The two watches share a smaller case size and precious-metal accents, but keep their separate aviation and dive-watch identities—and use different movements, dials and strap options.
What are the new 36 mm Breitling watches?
The watches are the Navitimer Automatic 36 and Superocean Heritage Automatic 36. T3’s launch report, published 6 October 2026, describes both as steel-and-18k-yellow-gold designs, with mother-of-pearl details in the launch treatment. Breitling’s official collection pages list 36 mm models in these families, but the specific launch configurations described below are reported by T3 rather than fully confirmed on official product pages.
The size is the shared headline, not a shared purpose: the Navitimer belongs to Breitling’s aviation-inspired line, while the Superocean Heritage is its dive-watch family, rooted in the 1957 Superocean. Breitling lists the latter in multiple case sizes, including 36 mm, on its official Austrian yellow-gold collection page and describes the collection’s history on its Superocean Heritage collection page.

What changes with the gold-accented treatment?
The two-tone styling adds 18k yellow gold to stainless steel rather than turning either watch into an all-gold piece. The Navitimer’s reported gold accents accompany a mother-of-pearl dial. On the Superocean Heritage, T3 describes gold markers on a white ceramic bezel insert and a yellow-gold crown, alongside a white dial. The materials make the watches dressier in appearance, while the contrasting dial and strap choices give each a different feel.

The launch report also points to distinct wearing options. The Navitimer can be specified with a two-tone bracelet or brown alligator leather; the Superocean Heritage choices are a steel mesh bracelet or white rubber strap. These alternatives change the visual balance and material against the wrist, so the nominally shared 36 mm case does not make them interchangeable in style.
