The brand calls the design a redesign, but its product pages do not identify specific outside influences or a named designer.
What is new about the Marine Star Series B?
The two US-listed models are 98B465 and 98B466. Bulova’s 98B465 page gives a launch date of January 12, 2026. The company describes the line as a redesign and frames the collection around nautical inspiration; that does not establish which particular watches, designers or historical designs informed this Series B.
The pair share the core specifications, while their dial colors and wrist hardware set them apart:

How do the two versions differ in practice?
98B465: black, silver and rubber
The 98B465 is the less colorful option, with a dial that transitions between silver and black and a contrasting bi-color bezel insert. Its HNBR rubber strap gives it a sportier look than the bracelet version. Bulova lists a 20mm lug width, but the product information cited here does not confirm compatibility with any particular replacement strap.
98B466: blue, black and steel
The 98B466 brings blue into the bezel and dial, with the dial’s brighter center fading to black. Its H-link bracelet gives the watch a more integrated steel appearance than the 98B465’s rubber strap. Bulova also lists a 20mm lug width for this model.

What does “nautical-inspired” mean here?
Bulova UK describes the broader Marine Star family as “Nautical inspired watches that feature bold accents, iconic patterns and innovative materials inspired by the sea.” That is the brand’s collection-level positioning, not a detailed account of the Series B design process. The UK collection also features a separate Marine Star Precisionist with a hexagonal case, wave-pattern dial and 200m water resistance. The page does not say that the Series B takes design cues from that watch.
The Marine Star name covers varied designs and specifications, rather than one uniform case or feature set. For example, Bulova’s UK collection page also describes a women’s model with eight diamonds and 100m water resistance. How much do the new Marine Star watches cost?
When accessed in 2026, Bulova’s US page displayed a $495 list price and $371.25 sale price for the 98B465; the 98B466 page displayed $550 and temporary out-of-stock status. These are volatile US page listings, not guaranteed current prices or Amazon prices. They are two automatic models within a broader family. At the time of access in 2026, Bulova’s US men’s Marine Star collection page showed 30 products. Its collection-level description of a six-hand chronograph as water resistant up to 200 feet should not be confused with the 200m/20-bar rating Bulova lists specifically for the 98B465 and 98B466.
