The Casio G-SHOCK GMC-B2100 is a full-metal, fully analog chronograph in the octagonal 2100 style. It pairs a stainless-steel case and bracelet with Tough Solar charging and Bluetooth Mobile Link for automatic time adjustment through the CASIO WATCHES app. Casio announced it on September 30, 2024; launch prices and availability varied by market and are historical, not current retail guidance.
What is the GMC-B2100?
Casio positions the GMC-B2100 as a full-metal chronograph within the 2100-style G-SHOCK family. The original GA-2100, introduced in 2019, combined analog and digital displays; the GMC-B2100 takes a different approach with an all-analog display and three functional inset dials. Its octagonal bezel retains the family’s recognizable shape. Casio’s September 30, 2024 announcement describes the design and launch.
Casio says the bezel top and band have a hairline finish, while the sloped sides of the bezel are mirror polished. The screw-lock crown is octagonal to echo the bezel. These are the manufacturer’s design descriptions; they are not independent assessments of the finish.
What features does it have?
Solar charging and Bluetooth
Tough Solar charges the watch using light. Bluetooth Mobile Link connects it to a smartphone, where the CASIO WATCHES app can adjust the time automatically and provide watch settings, world-time configuration, alarms, Time & Place, and Phone Finder. Casio lists approximately 300 world time cities in the app. These phone-linked functions require the CASIO WATCHES app; the watch also lists dual time as a function. See the official GMC-B2100D-1A product page for the current specification listing.

Case, materials, and water resistance
For the GMC-B2100D-1A, Casio lists a stainless-steel case and bezel, stainless-steel solid band, mineral glass, and screw-lock crown. The case measures 51.3 × 46.3 × 12.4 mm and the listed weight is 171 g. Water resistance is rated at 200 meters. Casio identifies it as shock resistant and says resin buffering components between the bezel and case help absorb impacts to the module. These specifications come from Casio’s product page and have not been independently tested here.
GMC-B2100D and GMC-B2100AD: what differs?
The launch models differ in dial treatment and in their market-specific model codes and prices. Casio’s D-1A product page lists a black dial, while its AD-2A product page identifies a light-blue dial treatment. The available product information does not establish that the core dimensions or functions differ by color, so check the precise regional model listing before comparing variants.

The GMC-B2100 is not simply a metal version of every other 2100 model: its display and chronograph layout are part of the distinction. For a useful comparison, check the exact model pages for these factors:
- Display: fully analog on the GMC-B2100, versus analog-digital on the original GA-2100.
- Materials and weight: confirm whether the case and band are resin, metal, or a combination, and compare the listed weight.
- Size and crystal: compare case dimensions and glass type rather than assuming they are shared across the family.
- Power and connectivity: check for Tough Solar and Bluetooth Mobile Link, as these affect charging and phone-linked functions.
- Water resistance and local price: verify the specific model and regional listing; launch pricing does not establish current retail pricing.
These comparison points clarify the trade-offs without implying that one watch is universally better. The right choice depends on whether the reader prefers an analog-only chronograph, the materials and dimensions, and the features offered by the exact model under consideration.
