The black-dial steel-bracelet model reviewed here is reference C032.929.11.051.00; its 41 mm case and 13.8 mm height make it a substantial sports watch, so check its fit as well as its price and warranty in your market.
What the GMT display does
Certina’s launch description says the central hour, minute, and seconds hands show home time, while a separate luminous-arrow hand points to the 24-hour bezel scale to show destination time. This lets you keep a reference time visible while tracking another time zone.
The Powermatic 80.661 GMT manual describes setting the GMT display with the crown in position III. Position II allows local-time changes in one-hour jumps and rapid date correction as the hour hand passes midnight. Follow the manual for the exact setting sequence on your watch, secure the crown after setting if your variant has a screw-down crown, and never operate the crown underwater.
If the watch has stopped or has not been worn for several days, Certina’s manual advises manual winding. The stated 80-hour reserve is a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee of accuracy or a measured result for every wearer. Certina notes that mechanical-watch accuracy depends on the wearer’s movements and habits.

Specifications and fit
| Specification | Black steel-bracelet reference | Buyer note |
|---|---|---|
| Reference | C032.929.11.051.00 | Match the reference on the listing, invoice, and warranty documents. |
| Case diameter | 41 mm | Certina lists 41 mm length and width. |
| Height | 13.8 mm | Consider this alongside diameter when checking cuff clearance. |
| Lug-to-lug | 49 mm, as reported by Fratello | This is an independent publication’s measurement, not a Certina specification. |
| Between lugs | 20 mm | Verify strap fit and case clearance before ordering a replacement. |
| Weight | 195 g net, per Certina | Try it on if weight is a concern; specifications alone do not establish comfort. |
| Movement | Automatic Powermatic 80.661 GMT | Includes a Nivachron balance spring. |
| Power reserve | Up to 80 hours, per Certina | A stated specification, not an accuracy rating. |
| Crystal | Sapphire, anti-reflective treatment on one side | Reflection preferences may vary. |
| Water resistance | Up to 20 bar / 200 m | Keep the crown secured and maintain the seals. |
| Warranty | Two years, according to Certina UK | Confirm terms and seller status in your market. |
At 41 mm across and 13.8 mm high, this is not a compact travel watch. Fratello reports a 49 mm lug-to-lug measurement, which is useful context for wrist fit. No firsthand wear test was conducted for this article; try the watch on if possible rather than assuming it will suit your wrist based on diameter alone.
Movement and water resistance
Certina specifies the automatic Powermatic 80.661 GMT with a power reserve of up to 80 hours and a Nivachron balance spring. Certina describes Nivachron as a balance-spring material, but neither it nor the power-reserve figure should be treated as an accuracy guarantee. The brand lists water resistance up to 20 bar (200 m); this rating does not remove the need to keep the crown secured and have seals checked as appropriate.
Variants and buying comparisons
The reviewed black-dial bracelet version is C032.929.11.051.00. Time+Tide’s March 2024 launch coverage describes steel-bracelet variants and a brown leather Root Beer variant. Its launch-era prices are historical, not current price guidance.

Who should consider the DS Action GMT?
- Consider it if you want a mechanical watch with a home-time display, a separate 24-hour destination-time hand, and an independently adjustable local hour.
- Consider it if a 41 mm, 13.8 mm sports watch with a 20 bar rating suits your needs.
- Look elsewhere if you need a notably small or thin watch, or if you require a documented accuracy tolerance or chronometer certification; the supplied product information does not establish either for this reference.
- Compare strap and bracelet variants carefully if your intended use involves regular water exposure.
Verdict
The Certina DS Action GMT Powermatic 80 combines a practical dual-time display with an 80-hour stated reserve, Nivachron balance spring, sapphire crystal, and a 200 m water-resistance rating. Its main fit consideration is its substantial profile: check the 41 mm diameter, 13.8 mm height, and Fratello’s reported 49 mm lug-to-lug measurement before buying.
