The Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 is a Swiss-made automatic dive-style watch available in 38, 40 and 42 mm cases. All versions use the Sellita SW200-1 movement, offer a stated 300 m / 30 ATM water-resistance rating and have a 38-hour maximum power reserve. The most important buying decision is fit: lug-to-lug length and thickness change with each size, so wrist circumference alone is not enough.
What the C60 Trident Pro 300 is
The C60 Trident Pro 300 is a self-winding mechanical watch with a date display, hacking seconds, an anti-shock system and 26 jewels. Christopher Ward’s handbook specifies a Sellita SW200-1 calibre running at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), with a maximum power reserve of 38 hours.

The case is 316L stainless steel. Other listed components include a ceramic unidirectional bezel, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, Super-LumiNova and a display caseback. Christopher Ward describes the watch in its handbook as designed in Britain and engineered in Switzerland; that is manufacturer wording rather than an independently audited supply-chain finding.

The three diameters are not simply larger versions of the same fit. Thickness and lug-to-lug length increase as well, affecting how far the watch extends across the wrist and how prominently it sits.

| Case size | Approx. lug-to-lug | Thickness | Handbook watch-head weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 38 mm | 45 mm | 11 mm | 61 g |
| 40 mm | 47.46 mm | 11.3 mm | 68 g |
| 42 mm | 49.32 mm | 11.5 mm | 78 g |
The diameters and weights come from Christopher Ward’s handbook; the lug-to-lug and thickness figures are reported by Fratello’s launch coverage. Wrist shape, flatness and personal preference can matter as much as circumference.
Choose 38 mm if
You prefer a compact dive-watch footprint, have a smaller wrist or want the shortest lugs. Its 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement is the least demanding of the three.
Choose 40 mm if
You want a middle ground between the compact and full-size cases. A forum owner with a 7-inch wrist reported wearing a blue 40 mm example and praised the bracelet’s articulation and micro-adjustment. That is one owner’s experience, not a universal fit result.
Choose 42 mm if
You prefer a larger dial and longer wrist presence and have room for nearly 50 mm of lug-to-lug length. WatchTime’s November 12, 2024 review covered an 11.5 mm-tall 42 mm configuration.
Movement and everyday operation
The SW200-1 is an automatic movement: wrist motion winds it, while the crown can be used for manual winding. Hacking seconds stop the seconds hand while setting the time. A 38-hour maximum reserve means the watch can stop after roughly a day and a half off the wrist; it is not evidence of an unusually long reserve without comparing it with a specific alternative.
The date, time-setting controls and crown operation should be handled according to the handbook. If the watch has stopped, winding and setting procedures should follow Christopher Ward’s instructions rather than force being applied to the crown.
Dial, bezel and legibility
Fratello’s launch-era account describes a revised dial, a ceramic bezel and a move of the date to 6 o’clock compared with the C60 Trident Pro 600. Those details are useful when comparing the two families, but the article reflects the launch period rather than a current catalogue guarantee for every reference.
WatchTime’s review of the 42 mm model offered subjective praise for finishing, legibility and lume, and described the strap feel positively. These are the reviewer’s impressions, not laboratory measurements. The unidirectional bezel is intended for elapsed-time indication; its alignment and action should be checked on the individual watch.
Water resistance: what 300 m means
Christopher Ward specifies the C60 Trident Pro 300 at 300 m / 30 ATM. That is a manufacturer rating, not a promise that every watch will remain water-tight in every circumstance.

- Before any water exposure, fully tighten the screw-down crown. The handbook states: “You must always ensure the crown is fully tightened before any use in water.”
- Seals can deteriorate, and impacts or movement-related changes can affect resistance.
- Rapid temperature changes from baths, showers or saunas can affect seals; the handbook specifically cautions against those conditions.
- Treat the rating as a guideline and have the watch checked if it has suffered a significant impact or shows signs of moisture.
The rating does not replace dive training, tables, a depth gauge or a dive computer. It is also not a reason to operate the crown while the watch is wet.

The handbook documents quick-release straps or bracelets and micro-adjustment on the bracelet. Those features make it easier to change the wearing setup and fine-tune fit without removing links.

Specialist listings identify 20 mm lugs on a 38 mm example and 22 mm lugs on a 42 mm example. The exact lug width for the 40 mm reference is not established here, so confirm the reference-specific measurement before buying an aftermarket quick-release watch strap. A strap that fits the case but not the lug width is not interchangeable.
Quality-control checks on arrival
Inspect the watch in good light before removing protective packaging or wearing it outside the return conditions. Check that the bezel markings, chapter ring and dial markers appear consistently aligned, that the crown screws down smoothly and that the bracelet or strap is secure.
In a December 2024 Christopher Ward Forum post, one owner reported a badly misaligned chapter ring or inner steel bezel on a first 40 mm blue watch and said Christopher Ward replaced it. This anecdote supports an arrival inspection, but it cannot establish how common the issue is or describe current brand-wide quality control.
Returns, guarantee and servicing
The handbook states that a perfect, unused watch with its paperwork can be returned within 60 days. It also describes a 60-month movement guarantee, subject to diagnosis and exclusions. Terms can vary by market and may change, so verify the conditions that apply to your order.

Christopher Ward recommends servicing every three to four years to keep the watch in peak condition. That is the manufacturer’s guidance, not a universal independently proven interval. The handbook says third-party service or repair voids the 60|60 guarantee, making the authorized service route important if maintaining coverage is a priority.
Price and availability
No current official retail price or stock position is established here. WatchTime’s reviewed 42 mm configuration was listed at $895 in its November 12, 2024 article; that is a dated, configuration-specific figure, not a current quotation. Fratello’s euro prices came from its August 2022 launch coverage and should likewise be treated as historical. Check the live Christopher Ward listing for your region, dial, bracelet or strap, taxes and availability.
How to decide
- Measure fit: compare your wrist with the 45 mm, 47.46 mm or 49.32 mm lug-to-lug figures, not diameter alone.
- Select the wearing setup: decide between bracelet, rubber, hybrid or another strap, then verify adjustment range and the exact lug width.
- Set movement expectations: accept the SW200-1’s 38-hour maximum reserve and consider your tolerance for winding after the watch stops.
- Check the individual watch: inspect alignment, crown operation, crystal and bracelet before the return period expires.
- Confirm ownership terms: read the market-specific return, guarantee and service conditions before purchase.
Verdict
The C60 Trident Pro 300’s strongest case is the combination of a conventional Swiss automatic movement, sapphire and ceramic components, three genuinely different case fits and a high stated water-resistance rating. The 38 mm is the compact option, the 40 mm is the compromise size, and the 42 mm delivers the largest presence. Buy based on lug-to-lug fit and configuration rather than the headline 300 m figure, and treat the water-resistance, pricing and guarantee details as conditions that require correct use and current-market verification.
