The C63 Celest uses a Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement. According to the handbook, it has 26 jewels, runs at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and has a stated power reserve of 38 hours. The stated timing tolerance is −20/+20 seconds per day; this is the manufacturer’s specification, not an independent accuracy test.

What does the 150 m water-resistance rating mean?
Christopher Ward rates the watch at 15 ATM, or 150 metres. The handbook’s activity guide says 15 ATM is suitable for open-water snorkelling, while its scuba-diving guidance starts at 30 ATM and above. The Celest should therefore not be described as a scuba-diving watch on the basis of its rating alone.

The watch takes a 20 mm strap; the handbook describes quick-release pins for Christopher Ward straps and bracelets, but that does not establish that every generic 20 mm replacement will fit correctly.

Changing a quick-release strap
- Pull the quick-release pins inward to retract the spring bars.
- Align the spring bars with the lug holes.
- Release the pins and check that both ends click securely into place before wearing the watch.
What did Christopher Ward say about the Sealander?
In the handbook, Christopher Ward CEO and co-founder Mike France describes the Sealander concept this way: “These pieces are as tough as a dive watch, but underplay it with more modest, bezel-free lines.
