Choose Christopher Ward if you want a broad contemporary collection spanning dive, GMT, chronograph, integrated-bracelet and dress-led designs, with a notable Swiss-made movement story. Choose Dennison if compact proportions, cushion-shaped cases, stone dials and a revival of a historic British case-making name are the draw. The right choice depends on the exact watch you want—not a single brand-wide winner.
How the brands differ
These brands have different kinds of heritage. Christopher Ward says it was founded in 2005 and began as an online-first company; its corporate history also highlights the 2014 introduction of SH21. Dennison’s modern collection, by contrast, is presented as a revival inspired by the historic Dennison Watch Case Company. These are company accounts of their own histories, not equivalent claims of continuous watchmaking.

Dennison says the historic company made watch cases for more than 50 years, including cases for other watch brands. That case-making legacy should not be read as a claim that Dennison made those brands’ movements or complete watches. The current brand says its first revived collection was designed by Emmanuel Gueit.
Christopher Ward’s current homepage selection includes C60 Trident dive watches, C63 Sealander chronographs, GMTs and automatic models, The Twelve, and the C1 Bel Canto Classic. Dennison’s catalogue is organized around ALD, Mini, Dual Time, Sunray and Dennison Editions. That points to a broader variety of formats at Christopher Ward and a stronger emphasis on distinctive case and dial design at Dennison; it is a reading of the current selections, not a complete inventory comparison.

Compare the exact watch, not just the brand
Design and intended use
Start with how you want the watch to look and function. Christopher Ward has more clearly varied formats in its current selection, including dive, GMT, chronograph, integrated-bracelet and chiming dress-style options. Dennison’s catalogue includes simpler steel Sunray watches as well as stone-dial Minis and more elaborate ALD editions. A catalogue’s design range is not evidence that every model suits every use.
Movement
SH21 is an important part of Christopher Ward’s story, but it is not the movement in every watch from the brand. Christopher Ward’s brochure describes it as a five-day chronometer movement; a specification sheet for a particular C60 Trident COSC 600 lists the 31-jewel SH21 COSC automatic calibre and a 120-hour power reserve. Treat those specifications as specific to that configuration.
The Dennison catalogue and history reviewed here do not establish the movements used in current models. Check the live specification for the exact watch before comparing its calibre, winding type or power reserve with a Christopher Ward model.
Dimensions and water resistance
A specification sheet for one C60 Trident COSC 600 configuration lists a 43 mm case diameter, 15.5 mm height, 51.5 mm lug-to-lug and 600 m water resistance. Those are not specifications for every C60, and the sheet does not establish the dimensions of current alternatives. The Dennison catalogue reviewed here does not provide dimensions or water resistance, so a fair fit or capability comparison requires current product details for the particular models.
Price and service terms
Prices shown on the brands’ storefronts are live listings, not fixed or directly comparable measures of value. On Christopher Ward’s international homepage as viewed on October 12, 2026, the C60 Trident Biscay collection was listed from £1,330 and the C63 Sealander Chronograph from £1,895. On Dennison’s US-dollar storefront at the same date, examples included Sunray steel watches at $570 and ALD Checker models at $7,900, with several Mini and ALD options between those figures. These are different models and currencies, not a matched-price comparison.

Christopher Ward’s current homepage advertises a five-year movement guarantee and 60-day free returns. Confirm the live terms, including eligibility and geographic conditions, before buying. The material reviewed here does not establish equivalent Dennison terms, so check its current product and returns pages rather than assuming they match.
