The CIGA Design Z Series Hunter is a large, geometric tonneau-style automatic skeleton watch built around the CD-07 caliber. Published specifications include a 43 × 48 × 12.9 mm case, 40-hour power reserve and 3 ATM water resistance. Those figures describe the original Z Series Hunter as listed by Fratello; CIGA’s current Hunter Steel page shares several movement specifications but should be treated as a separate product listing, not proof that every release has identical details.
What kind of watch is the Z Series Hunter?
The Hunter is an automatic skeleton watch with a tonneau-shaped case and open-worked construction that puts the movement at the center of its design. Its proportions are substantial on paper: Fratello lists the original Z Series model at 43 mm wide, 48 mm long and 12.9 mm thick. Those dimensions describe the case, not how it will fit a particular wrist; wrist shape and bracelet adjustment affect the result.
Fratello’s original-model specification list describes a 316L stainless-steel case offered in transparent, gray or black DLC finishes, a sapphire crystal, and a screw-in display caseback. It also specifies a steel H-link bracelet with 22 mm end links. These details belong to the Z Series Hunter described in that article, rather than automatically applying to every later Hunter listing.
What does the CD-07 movement offer?
Fratello identifies the movement as CIGA Design’s custom-designed, Swiss-made CD-07 automatic caliber. Its published specifications are a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, 24 jewels and a 40-hour power reserve. The stated accuracy is −15 to +25 seconds per day. That is a manufacturer-published specification, not a measured result for an individual watch.

CIGA Design lists the same CD-07 movement figures on its current Hunter Steel product page. The overlap supports those movement figures for that listing; it does not establish that all case, finishing or bracelet details match the original Z Series model.
What do the water-resistance and case specifications mean?
The Z Series Hunter is listed at 3 ATM water resistance by Fratello, and CIGA gives the same rating for Hunter Steel. The rating is a specification, not a promise that the watch is suitable for swimming or other particular water activities. No more specific use guidance is established by these listings.

For the original Z Series model, Fratello specifies a sapphire crystal and a screw-in display caseback. CIGA’s current Hunter Steel page describes its crystal as curved sapphire. Since the pages cover different listings, the current page’s wording should not be generalized to every Z Series version.
How is Hunter Steel different from Hunter Titanium?
CIGA’s Hunter family includes distinct product variants. The current Hunter Steel listing specifies a 316L steel case and bracelet and 3 ATM water resistance. CIGA’s Hunter Titanium page describes a Grade 5 titanium case, Grade 2 titanium bracelet and 5 ATM water resistance. Those titanium specifications are not the specifications of the Z Series Hunter Steel model.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What should you verify before buying?
- Exact version: distinguish the original Z Series Hunter from the current Hunter Steel listing and the separate Hunter Titanium variant.
- Dimensions and finish: confirm the case size and finish for the specific listing. Fratello’s 43 × 48 × 12.9 mm dimensions and original-model finish options are not a universal specification for every Hunter.
- Movement claims: read the CD-07’s 40-hour reserve, 28,800 vph frequency, 24 jewels and −15 to +25 seconds-per-day accuracy as published specifications, not independent timekeeping test results.
- Current price and availability: Fratello reported US$499 in its 2025 article, but that was an article-time price, not a verified current offer. Confirm the exact model, region, seller, stock and present price directly with the retailer or manufacturer.
Although the title suggests a hands-on review, the published material available here does not establish specific findings about comfort, legibility, build quality or measured timekeeping. The specifications make the Hunter’s dimensions and open-worked layout clear, but they are not substitutes for wearing or testing the watch.
