The Cincinnati Watch Company Concourse is most compelling as a wearable piece of local architectural history: its design recalls the former clock in Cincinnati Union Terminal’s grand Concourse. It pairs that distinctive look with a reported compact 36 mm case and an automatic Sellita movement. Whether it is worth buying depends on your interest in the design and comfort with mechanical-watch upkeep; the company says it will not make more Concourse watches after its remaining stock sells out, but current inventory is not established here.
What is the Cincinnati Watch Company Concourse?
The Concourse is a historically inspired automatic watch from Cincinnati Watch Company. Its visual reference is the former clock above the grand Concourse at Cincinnati Union Terminal. WatchGecko describes the dial as layered and luminous, giving the watch a more distinctive identity than a generic dress-style design. The connection is architectural and local rather than a claim that this is a reproduction of the original clock.
This review is based on the manufacturer’s operating manual and company FAQ, plus WatchGecko’s 2023 overview for several physical specifications and design details. It is not a hands-on assessment: no claim is made here about actual wrist comfort, finishing, lume performance, or measured timekeeping.

The manual is the primary source for operating guidance and water-resistance conditions; the independent WatchGecko account supplies the dimensions and several design details. The published 36 mm case width suggests a compact starting point, but dimensions alone cannot predict fit: wrist shape, lug-to-lug span, bracelet articulation, and personal preference all matter.

Movement and day-to-day operation
The company manual identifies the movement as a Sellita SW300-1. WatchGecko’s 2023 overview gives the more specific designation SW300-1a. Since the sources differ, it is most accurate to report both attributions rather than silently treating the suffixes as the same specification.
Winding and setting
- If the watch has stopped: turn the crown clockwise to wind it manually, as directed by the company manual. The watch is also self-winding as it is worn and the wearer moves.
- To set the time: pull the crown fully out, set the hands, then push the crown back in.
- To set the date: pull the crown out one click and turn it counter-clockwise. Do not change the date between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.; the manual warns that doing so can damage the setting mechanism.
Push the crown fully back in after winding or setting. This matters both for normal operation and for maintaining the manual’s stated water-resistance conditions.

Water resistance: the crown position matters
The manufacturer’s manual rates the Concourse at 100 m and says swimming is safe when the crown is pushed in. It also states that the watch has no water resistance while the crown is in a date- or time-setting position. The 100 m figure should therefore not be read as protection while adjusting the watch, and the manual does not explicitly recommend scuba diving.
For cleaning, the manual advises rinsing under gently running water and drying with a microfiber cloth, only when the crown is pushed in. Avoid operating the crown near water; return it fully to its normal position before exposure.

Fit, design and ownership trade-offs
Reasons it may suit you
- You want a watch with a specific Cincinnati and Union Terminal story, rather than a broadly styled vintage-inspired watch.
- You prefer a reported 36 mm case and 20 mm lug width, while recognizing that the published figures come from WatchGecko’s 2023 overview.
- You value an automatic movement and are comfortable with the routine care mechanical watches require.
Reasons to think twice
- You need verified, current product specifications from a dedicated manufacturer product page; the dimensions and some design details cited here are from the 2023 independent overview.
- You want a watch that can be adjusted in water or need explicit manufacturer guidance for scuba diving; the manual says there is no water resistance with the crown pulled out and does not expressly recommend scuba use.
- You do not want periodic servicing or to take precautions around strong magnets.
The 20 mm lug width makes replacement straps a plausible option, but width alone does not establish attachment type, spring-bar fit, or buckle compatibility. Check those details before buying a strap.
Care and service expectations
The Cincinnati Watch Company manual recommends avoiding strong magnets, which can disrupt mechanical timekeeping. It says mechanical watches require service every 5–6 years, involving disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication. That is the company’s general maintenance guidance for mechanical watches; it is not a measured service interval derived from a Concourse-specific wear test.

Price and availability
A Shop listing for the Silver-White Concourse showed $1,099 when accessed in 2026; that is a dated listing price, not a guaranteed current price or a verified stable MSRP. A January 2025 Reddit secondhand listing asked $900 for a Champagne edition. That was an asking price, not evidence of a completed sale or current resale value.
The company FAQ says it will make no more Concourse watches after remaining stock sells out. It does not state how many remain, so availability should be checked directly rather than inferred from that policy.

Is the Cincinnati Watch Company Concourse worth buying?
It is a considered choice for someone who values the Union Terminal connection, the reported compact dimensions, and an automatic Sellita movement—and who accepts mechanical-watch servicing and careful crown use. The strongest reason to choose it is its specific design story; the most important practical cautions are the source-qualified specifications, the crown-dependent water resistance, and uncertain remaining stock. Without a current verified inventory count or a hands-on assessment, a firm value verdict would go beyond what the available evidence supports.
