The Citizen AQ6010-06A pairs a restrained ivory dial and 18K white-gold case with an unusually ambitious specification: Citizen rates its light-powered Caliber 0100 movement to ±1 second per year. That is the manufacturer’s stated accuracy, not a result measured on an individual watch. Citizen announced a worldwide edition of 100 in 2019; its US product page now marks the model sold out.
What makes the AQ6010-06A distinctive?
The watch’s character comes from the contrast between a simple three-hand display and the precision claim beneath it. Citizen describes the dial as ivory, with a finish intended to communicate the movement’s ultraprecision. The case and buckle are 18K white gold, and the strap is crocodile leather. Sapphire crystal protects the dial; Citizen’s launch announcement describes dual spherical sapphire glass, while the product specifications also identify anti-reflective coating.

Those details establish the design and materials, but they are not a substitute for handling the watch. No first-hand inspection or wear test is available here, so claims about its actual wrist fit, perceived weight, finishing quality, tactile feel, legibility in varied light, or observed timekeeping would be unwarranted.

#1 Best Overall
- Round silver-tone watch featuring white dial with stick indices, luminous hands, and mini date window
- 39 mm stainless steel case with mineral dial window
- Movement: Conventional Battery G111, Japanese quartz movement with analog display.
- Croco-embossed leather band with buckle closure
- Water resistant to 50 m (165 ft): In general, suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not diving or snorkeling
What does ±1 second per year mean?
It is Citizen’s stated movement accuracy: the company specifies a deviation of no more than one second per year under its stated specification. It should not be read as a test result for this particular watch, or as a guarantee that every owner will see exactly that outcome in every environment and over every interval.
Citizen calls Caliber 0100 a light-powered watch with annual accuracy of ±1 second. The company says the movement keeps time autonomously rather than relying on time signals from radio towers or artificial satellites. Its claim that this was the “most precise light-powered watch” is specifically dated to February 2019 and scoped to autonomous analogue quartz watches, based on Citizen Watch Co., Ltd.’s research; it is not an unqualified claim about every kind of watch or a current independently verified ranking. How Caliber 0100 manages time and power
Citizen’s description of the movement includes several functions intended to preserve accurate hand positioning and limit power use. These are manufacturer explanations, not independently tested observations of the AQ6010-06A.
- Shock counteraction: Citizen says the movement locks the rotor to hold the hands in place when needed, then releases it.
- Automatic hand correction: The movement checks hand position and resets it if necessary, according to Citizen.
- Magnetic resistance: Citizen lists resistance of 4,800 A/m on its technology page.
- Power reserve: Citizen states six months of running time after a full charge, extending to eight months when power-save mode is used.
Citizen also describes design choices intended to reduce consumption while powering the high-precision oscillator and temperature correction. Its explanation of the movement’s precision and functions is available on the Caliber 0100 technology page.

Release, price and availability
Citizen announced the AQ6010-06A in March 2019 as a limited edition of 100 worldwide. The launch announcement gave a projected price of USD 16,800. That is a historical launch-era projection, not a confirmed current retail price, resale value, or estimate of what a buyer should pay today.
Citizen’s US product page currently labels the AQ6010-06A “Sold Out.” That indicates the status shown on that official page; current resale listings, marketplace inventory, and availability through other regions or sellers have not been established.

Is the white-gold version the right Caliber 0100?
The AQ6010-06A is the Caliber 0100 choice for someone drawn to the precious-metal case, ivory dial, and crocodile strap combination. Citizen’s 2019 announcement also lists titanium Caliber 0100 alternatives, AQ6021-51E and AQ6020-53X, but those are different wearing configurations: titanium cases with metal bracelets rather than this model’s white gold and leather. The announcement does not establish a direct hands-on comparison, and this article makes no comparative fit or feel claims.

For a prospective buyer, the key distinction is therefore not a proven difference in timekeeping performance, but the case and strap materials, limited production, and uncertain present-day availability. Confirm the exact reference, condition, documentation, and seller-specific terms before evaluating any offer; Citizen’s historical projected price should not be used as a current valuation.
