What the two watches have in common
A pilot chronograph with a central 60-minute counter
Both watches use Sinn’s SZ01 chronograph movement and place the stopwatch’s 60-minute counter at the center of the dial. Sinn says this arrangement makes stop times easier, quicker, and more accurate to read. That is the manufacturer’s explanation of the design, not an independently published comparative test. Sinn specifies a 43 mm diameter, stainless-steel construction, sapphire crystal, 10-bar pressure resistance, and low-pressure resistance for both models. The 10-bar figure is the manufacturer’s product rating; it should not be read as a separate real-world performance test.

Sinn describes the pilot bezel as captive to the case and smoothly rotatable without detents. The 156.1 E document states: “The pilot’s bezel is captively connected to the case and can be rotated smoothly without detent.”
What makes the 156.1 E different?
Anthracite hard-coated bezel
The E replaces the standard 156.1’s black-coated bezel with an anthracite hard-coated version. Sinn says TEGIMENT treatment is an important prerequisite for the anthracite coating and describes the resulting coating as extremely durable. That durability characterization is Sinn’s claim; the available product documents provide no independent comparative test result.

Ivory-colored details and Kollsman-window date
The E uses ivory-colored numerals and hour and minute hands. Its date display is styled after the Kollsman window on an aviation altimeter, giving this edition a distinctive aviation reference beyond the shared pilot-chronograph layout.
A 300-piece edition
Sinn identifies the 156.1 E as limited to 300 pieces. The product document does not state a year for that production limit, and the figure should not be treated as evidence of current availability.

Which Sinn 156.1 should you choose?
- Choose the 156.1 if you want the shared SZ01 pilot-chronograph design in the standard black-bezel presentation, with Sinn documenting leather, vintage-look cowhide, and bracelet configurations.
- Choose the 156.1 E if you prefer the anthracite bezel, ivory dial details, and Kollsman-window-inspired date styling, and value its limited-edition designation and documented presentation set.
For either model, confirm the exact configuration and current stock with the seller. Sinn’s materials establish the models and their listed features, but do not establish today’s retail price or availability.
