The Dryden Heartlander is a compact automatic field-watch family, but its details depend on the configuration: the Gunmetal Gray model reviewed here is a no-date watch with a Miyota 9039, while the Blue & Crimson version has a date display and a Miyota 9015. Dryden’s Gunmetal Gray listing specified a 38 mm case, 100 m water resistance and a $650 price when checked on October 8, 2026. Those are manufacturer-listed specifications and a time-sensitive price—not results from hands-on testing.

Which Dryden Heartlander is this review about?

The Heartlander is not one fixed specification. Dryden lists distinct dial and movement configurations, so confirm the selected variant before comparing features or ordering:

Configuration Date display and movement What the listing establishes
Gunmetal Gray No date; Miyota 9039 automatic Dryden lists a 42-hour power reserve, 28,800 beats per hour and regulation to +15/-10 seconds per day. Source: Dryden product listing
Blue & Crimson Date at six o’clock; Miyota 9015 automatic Dryden lists a 42-hour power reserve. Its dial, finish and regulation details differ; check the selected listing for current specifications. Source: Dryden product listing

The configurations share the stated 38 mm case diameter, 46 mm lug-to-lug length, 11.2 mm thickness and 20 mm lug width, but they should not be treated as interchangeable in every detail. This review focuses on the Gunmetal Gray no-date model because its listing provides the specific specifications discussed below.

How might the 38 mm case wear?

Dryden lists the Gunmetal Gray case at 38 mm across, 46 mm from lug to lug and 11.2 mm thick, including its domed crystal. Those dimensions suggest a relatively restrained footprint for an everyday field watch, although wrist shape, bracelet fit and personal preference matter as much as the numbers.

  • Dimensions: The case features a 44 mm diameter, an 11 mm thickness, and a lug-to-lug length of 49.7 mm. 22 mm lug width, while the crown measures 8 mm in diameter. The total weight is 74 grams, fits up to 8-inch wrist circumference

In a hands-on review, Worn & Wound’s reviewer said the 38 × 46 mm case wore well on a 6.75-inch wrist. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist. Read Worn & Wound’s review.

Dryden lists the case as stainless steel, with a fixed brushed bezel and double-domed sapphire crystal carrying an anti-reflective coating. The published weights are approximately 59 g for the watch head and 135 g on the unsized bracelet; these are manufacturer figures, not independent measurements.

What are the movement and everyday-use specifications?

The Gunmetal Gray’s Miyota 9039 is an automatic movement without a date display. Dryden specifies a 42-hour power reserve, a beat rate of 28,800 beats per hour and regulation to +15/-10 seconds per day. The regulation range is the manufacturer’s stated specification, not a measured accuracy result for an individual watch.

Dryden also lists a screw-down crown and 100 m / 330 ft water resistance. These are product specifications; they do not, by themselves, establish suitability for a particular activity or the condition of a specific watch. For the date-equipped Blue & Crimson, Dryden lists the Miyota 9015 and the same stated water resistance, but consult that configuration’s listing for its full details.

Can you change the bracelet?

Yes. Dryden says the watch can be worn on its metal bracelet or changed to rubber, leather or nylon straps, and describes quick-release spring bars on its straps. The listed 20 mm lug width makes a 20 mm replacement strap a reasonable place to start, but width alone does not ensure compatibility. Confirm the attachment method and spring-bar dimensions for the specific strap before buying.

The Gunmetal Gray bracelet tapers from 20 mm at the lugs to 16 mm at the clasp, according to Dryden. That taper is relevant if you want to replace the bracelet or match another strap to the watch’s proportions.

Price, availability and buying considerations

When Dryden’s Gunmetal Gray listing was retrieved on October 8, 2026, it showed a price of $650 and marked the watch in stock. Price and inventory can change, so check the live listing before purchasing. Dryden says the watch is assembled in Kansas City.

Worn & Wound’s review specification panel listed a $500 price and a two-year warranty at the time of that review. Those are historical details, not current buying terms; the Dryden product page checked here does not establish a current warranty period. Confirm warranty coverage, returns and the exact variant with the seller before checkout.

Verdict: a promising everyday field-watch option, with variant details to check

The Heartlander’s appeal is its compact stated sizing, sapphire crystal, automatic movement and practical strap options. The Gunmetal Gray no-date configuration is the clearest choice if you want a clean dial and the Miyota 9039; the Blue & Crimson listing provides a date display and Miyota 9015 instead. The published specifications make it a credible everyday-wear candidate, but no hands-on test is available here to establish real-world accuracy, comfort, lume performance or water resistance.
