The Emile Chouriet Lac Léman Classic Chronometer is a 40 mm automatic watch with a white Roman-numeral dial, blue hands and a steel bracelet. Its reported launch price was CHF 1,600 excluding tax in March 2020; that is a historical figure, not a verified current price. The matching reference, 00.1168.G40.6.6.25.6, is now presented by the manufacturer as the Lac Léman COSC White.
What watch is the Lac Léman Classic Chronometer?
Monochrome Watches introduced the model in 2020 as the Lac Léman Classic Chronometer. The manufacturer’s current product page uses the name Lac Léman COSC White for reference 00.1168.G40.6.6.25.6. Emile Chouriet’s product page and Monochrome’s March 2020 introduction identify the matching reference.
The design is a straightforward dress-watch arrangement: a round stainless-steel case, white dial, black Roman numerals, blue hands and a date window at 3 o’clock. Monochrome’s author, Rebecca Doulton, described it as “the first model in the collection to feature a 40mm case diameter and COSC-chronometer certification.”
What was its price?
Monochrome reported a retail price of CHF 1,600 excluding tax in its 10 March 2020 introduction. A French launch report from Montres-de-Luxe, dated 22 January 2020, put the price at approximately €1,500. These are separate launch reports for different markets; the euro figure should not be treated as a currency conversion or assumed to have the same tax treatment.

Neither launch figure establishes today’s price. The manufacturer’s product information confirms the reference and specifications but does not establish a current price or stock status. Check with a seller for a current quote and confirm that the listing is for reference 00.1168.G40.6.6.25.6. The brand’s retailer information is useful for finding sales channels, but does not confirm that a particular retailer has this exact reference in stock.

What does COSC chronometer certification mean here?
COSC certification is the distinguishing technical claim in the watch’s name: the automatic movement is certified as a chronometer. Monochrome describes the launch calibre as EC9312-COSC and says it is based on the ETA 2892; the manufacturer lists the movement as EC9312 and identifies the model as COSC-certified. The manufacturer specifies a 42-hour power reserve.

What to know about wearing it
Case size and dial
The 40 mm case makes this a larger format than earlier models in the collection, according to Monochrome’s launch coverage. The white dial, Roman numerals and blue hands create a traditional, high-contrast look, while the date window adds a practical calendar display.
Water resistance
The stated rating is 30 metres. Treat that as protection for limited water exposure, not as an indication that the watch is suitable for swimming or diving.
