The F.P. Journe Chronomètre Furtif is a small-production lineSport watch announced on 31 March 2025. Its defining contrast is a mirror-polished anthracite Grand Feu enamel dial and a tungsten-carbide case and bracelet, accented with tantalum. The watch measures 42 mm across and 9.30 mm thick, and is powered by the manually wound Calibre 1522.

What is the F.P. Journe Chronomètre Furtif?

F.P. Journe introduced the Chronomètre Furtif as a new addition to its lineSport collection. The name means “stealth,” reflected in the dark dial and the way its markings appear as the angle of light changes. In its announcement, F.P. Journe described the watch as “Having the time for yourself alone” and specified its tungsten-carbide case and bracelet with a mirror-polished anthracite grey Grand Feu enamel dial. Read F.P. Journe’s announcement.

Case, bracelet and dial

Tungsten carbide with tantalum details

The case diameter is 42 mm, with an overall thickness of 9.30 mm. Tungsten carbide is used for the case and three-row flat-link bracelet. Tantalum is used for the caseback, insert, bezel ring and crown; the titanium folding clasp is capped in tantalum. F.P. Journe describes tungsten carbide as very hard, biocompatible, shock-resistant and nearly indestructible. Those are the manufacturer’s material claims, not a comparative durability test.

A dial that changes with the light

The anthracite-grey Grand Feu enamel dial is made on white gold and mirror polished. Its numerals and minute track are matte; they become visible to the wearer as the dial is tilted relative to the light. The display on the front is deliberately restrained: hours, minutes and central seconds.

Calibre 1522 and what it displays

Calibre 1522 is a manually wound movement made in 18K rose gold. F.P. Journe’s 2025 specifications list a 56 ± 2-hour power reserve, 21 jewels, a 3 Hz frequency (21,600 vibrations per hour), a 33.50 mm diameter and a 5.90 mm height. The dial shows the time; the back carries the moon-phase display and power-reserve indication. See the manufacturer’s specifications.

How it differs from the Furtif Bleu

The Furtif Bleu made for Only Watch 2024 is a separate unique piece, not the standard Chronomètre Furtif. The key distinction is material: the Only Watch piece has a full tantalum case and bracelet, while the small-production 2025 model uses tungsten carbide for those components, with tantalum elements.

Feature Chronomètre Furtif (2025) Furtif Bleu (Only Watch 2024)
Production Small production, according to F.P. Journe’s announcement Unique piece

Price and availability

The Foundation of Haute Horlogerie lists an indicated price of CHF 85,000 for the Chronomètre Furtif. The cited page does not state the year of that figure, so it should be treated as an indicated launch-era price—not a current quotation, a tax-inclusive amount or confirmation that a watch is available. Current country-specific pricing, taxes, delivery timing and stock have not been established. Contact F.P. Journe for a current quote. Foundation of Haute Horlogerie profile.

What is not established

The published specifications and price indication do not establish servicing intervals or costs, bracelet replacement availability, resale value or insurance terms. There is also no basis here for ranking the watch’s durability or performance against other models. Those questions require current information from the manufacturer or relevant service and market sources.
