The F.P. Journe Octa Sport Titanium is a 42 mm automatic watch, reference ARS, produced from 2014 to 2018. Its case is titanium with rubber inserts, while its dial and Calibre 1300.3 movement use aluminum alloy. The prices documented for it are 2014 launch prices—not current asking prices or a present-day valuation.
What is the Octa Sport Titanium?
F.P. Journe identifies the model as “OCTA SPORT TITANIUM – Ref. ARS Calibre 1300.3.” The manufacturer dates production to 2014–2018, so it is a discontinued production model rather than a current catalog watch. F.P. Journe’s product page gives the official name, production dates, and specifications.

The design belongs to the brand’s lineSport collection. Titanium replaced aluminum for the case; Hodinkee’s 2014 launch report says the change addressed structural considerations, while aluminum remained in the dial and movement to keep the watch light. Hodinkee’s launch coverage provides that material context.
Case, dial and wearing configurations
The case measures 42 mm in diameter and 11.6 mm in overall height. F.P. Journe specifies titanium with rubber inserts, an aluminum-alloy and sapphire dial, and luminous indexes and numerals. The official product page lists rubber strap and titanium bracelet configurations.

Monochrome describes the case and bracelet as Grade 5 titanium with a dark matte finish. It reports that the integrated bracelet wears smaller than expected; that is the publication’s hands-on impression, not a fit measurement that applies to every wrist. Monochrome’s 2014 hands-on article is the source for that observation.
Dial layout and functions
The dial combines central hours and minutes with several indications arranged around them. F.P. Journe specifies their positions as follows:
- Small seconds: at 6 o’clock.
- Day/night indication: at 9 o’clock.
- Power reserve: at 10:30.
- Large date: at 1 o’clock.
The calendar is an instantaneous jump date. The crown has three positions for winding, date correction, and time correction.
Calibre 1300.3 and the 120-hour precision period
Calibre 1300.3 is a unidirectional automatic movement made from aluminum alloy. Its winding system uses an off-centre titanium rotor with a tungsten segment and a slipping spring. F.P. Journe lists a 15-tooth escapement and a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour, or 3 Hz.
The manufacturer says a fully wound Octa maintains chronometric precision for 120 hours. It may continue running for another day or two after that, but F.P. Journe says the loss of amplitude means precision is no longer guaranteed. The 120-hour figure is therefore the stated precision period, not a guarantee that the watch stops at exactly five days.

Two 2014 articles reported launch-era prices in different currencies. These figures describe original retail pricing at launch and do not establish a current secondary-market value, availability, or price trend.
| Configuration | 2014 launch prices reported | Reported weight |
|---|---|---|
| Rubber strap | $28,160 (Hodinkee, 2014); €20,000 (Monochrome, 2014) | Around 60 g (F.P. Journe); 60 g (Monochrome) |
| Titanium bracelet | $33,910 (Hodinkee, 2014); €24,000 (Monochrome, 2014) | 70 g (Monochrome) |
The prices and weights are attributed to Hodinkee’s September 15, 2014 launch report and Monochrome’s July 30, 2014 hands-on article; the rubber-strap estimate is also stated by F.P. Journe. The manufacturer page does not publish a current price, and the launch figures should not be used as a present-day appraisal.
What the published specifications establish
The available manufacturer specifications and dated launch coverage establish the Octa Sport Titanium’s production period, materials, dimensions, functions, movement details, original wearing configurations, and launch-era pricing. They do not establish current market value or present availability. No independent authentication or condition assessment follows from the specifications alone.
