Hublot’s Coal Blue collection, announced in Milan on 19 January 2026, brings the new blue-gray-black dial color to four watches: two titanium chronographs and two smaller steel models with diamond-set bezels. The larger watches measure 43 mm and 42 mm; the diamond models measure 33 mm and 32 mm. Here is how the four references differ in design, movement, specifications and reported price.
What is new about Coal Blue?
Hublot developed Coal Blue specifically for these four references. The brand describes it as a saturated blue with gray and black undertones, intended to show different reflections as light hits it from changing angles. The announcement introduces the color across two established Hublot families rather than as a single watch design. Hublot’s announcement calls the collection Coal Blue; a quotation from CEO Julien Tornare uses the wording “Charcoal Blue.”
The two larger models share a geometric dial pattern inspired by carbon fiber, with alternating satin-finished and polished squares and a reworked three-dimensional effect. The smaller watches instead use sunray-finished dials. The four cases are titanium or steel, not ceramic: although the announcement’s final paragraph uses “Coal Blue Ceramic,” its model descriptions identify titanium for the chronographs and steel for the diamond-set watches.

The titanium chronographs: 43 mm Big Bang or 42 mm Spirit?
Big Bang Original Unico Titanium Coal Blue
The 43 mm Big Bang Original Unico is the rounder of the two large chronographs. Hublot identifies its movement as the Unico Manufacture flyback chronograph and describes its reserve as three days. Monochrome reports the specific HUB1280 calibre, a 72-hour reserve and 28,800 vibrations per hour, along with 100 m water resistance. The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry independently lists the model at 43 mm diameter, 13.2 mm thick, 10 ATM water resistance, automatic HUB1280, 28,800 vph and approximately 72 hours’ reserve. Its 2 March 2026 model listing gives a Japanese price of JPY 2,629,000; that is a Japan-specific listed price, not a conversion or estimate for other markets.
Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Coal Blue
The 42 mm Spirit uses a tonneau-shaped case and an open, skeletonized chronograph movement. Hublot identifies it as the HUB4700 and specifies a 5 Hz frequency, equivalent to 36,000 vibrations per hour. Monochrome reports a 50-hour reserve, 100 m water resistance and sapphire crystals on the front and back. Its reported reserve and movement details are distinct from Hublot’s three-day specification for the Big Bang Unico.

Both titanium chronographs have rubber straps, titanium deployant buckles and Hublot’s One-Click interchangeable system. Their bezels use six H-shaped screws. The shared dial pattern links them visually, while the round Big Bang and tonneau Spirit give the collection two noticeably different case profiles.
The smaller steel models: two diamond-set options
Big Bang One Click Steel Coal Blue Diamonds
The 33 mm Big Bang One Click has a steel case, sunray Coal Blue dial and a bezel set with 36 diamonds. Hublot states a total diamond weight of 0.76 carat. Monochrome reports the HUB1120 automatic movement, a 40-hour reserve and 100 m water resistance.

Spirit of Big Bang Steel Coal Blue Diamonds
The 32 mm Spirit has a steel tonneau case and a bezel set with 44 diamonds, weighing 0.70 carat in total according to Hublot. Monochrome also reports a HUB1120 automatic movement, 40-hour reserve and 100 m water resistance. Compared with the One Click, it has a slightly smaller stated diameter and a different case shape, with a higher diamond count but a lower total carat weight.
For both diamond bezels, Hublot reports F/G color, VVS clarity and Excellent cut, and says the stones have dual RJC and Kimberley Process certifications. Those grading and certification details are the brand’s claims.

How to read the prices and availability
Monochrome’s January 2026 figures provide a useful comparison across the four models, but they are reported CHF and EUR prices rather than confirmed live prices from Hublot. The Federation’s March 2026 listing supplies a separate Japan-specific price for the 43 mm Unico. Prices can vary by market and may change; check the exact reference with Hublot or a local retailer before making a purchase decision.
Hublot says the editions are available at selected Hublot points of sale and online at hublot.com. The announcement does not establish universal stock or a current price, so availability should also be confirmed locally.
Which Coal Blue reference fits the brief?
- For a titanium flyback chronograph in a round case: the 43 mm Big Bang Original Unico combines the HUB1280 with Hublot’s stated three-day reserve.
- For an openworked chronograph and tonneau profile: the 42 mm Spirit pairs the HUB4700 with a 5 Hz frequency, as specified by Hublot.
- For a smaller steel watch with a round case: the 33 mm Big Bang One Click has 36 bezel diamonds and the higher total carat weight of the two diamond models.
- For a smaller steel watch with a tonneau case: the 32 mm Spirit has 44 bezel diamonds and a slightly smaller diameter.
