Announced on 16 June 2025, it pairs a 42 mm stainless-steel case with an automatic integrated chronograph, orange accents and two interchangeable straps.
What is new about the Ocean Grey Polaris Chronograph?
The defining change is the dial. Jaeger-LeCoultre describes the 2025 model as a Polaris Chronograph with “a new dial in the Maison’s signature Ocean grey lacquer.” The grey shifts from light to dark, with orange details adding contrast. The brand says the dial is made with 35 layers of lacquer and combines three finishes. These are the manufacturer’s published construction details, not a claim that the watch has a new movement or case architecture.
The watch is reference Q9028651. “Ocean Grey” is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s name for the dial; “Gradient Grey” is a useful description of its appearance, rather than the official color name.
Case size, wear and water resistance
The stainless-steel case measures 42 mm across and 13.39 mm thick. Jaeger-LeCoultre also specifies sharply curved lugs, a thin bezel, a glass-box crystal and a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. Those dimensions give a more useful starting point for judging fit than the diameter alone, but wrist comfort is individual; no measured wrist-fit result is established here.

Water resistance is rated at 10 bar by Jaeger-LeCoultre. That figure should not be treated as evidence of dive-watch certification: the brand presents this model as a chronograph, and no dive certification claim is established.
Calibre 761 and chronograph display
Inside is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s automatic Calibre 761. The manufacturer describes an integrated chronograph mechanism using a column wheel and vertical clutch, with a stated power reserve of 65 hours.

The display separates its functions across the dial: running small seconds sit at 9 o’clock, while the 30-minute chronograph counter is at 3 o’clock. A central chronograph seconds hand works with the tachymeter scale. The layout keeps elapsed seconds on the central hand and the running seconds in their own subdial.
Straps and launch price
Q9028651 is supplied with a black rubber strap and an additional blue-grey canvas strap. The two options offer different looks and materials without changing the watch’s case or movement.
