The Singer Heritage Collection is a restoration-led chronograph line, but it does not use one Valjoux calibre throughout. Singer associates its V23 models with the Valjoux 236; the Heritage V72 Gold SR620-1 instead uses a Singer-restored Valjoux 72. That distinction matters when identifying a particular watch or comparing its specifications.
What makes the Singer Heritage Collection different?
Singer Reimagined describes Heritage as a collection built around original historic chronograph movements. The brand says it sources, dismantles, restores, hand-finishes and rebuilds each movement before placing it in a contemporary Singer case. Singer frames this as restoration rather than reproduction; that account describes the brand’s process and has not been independently documented in the cited material. Singer’s Heritage Collection currently lists five models: Heritage V23 Empire Green SR602, V23 Piano Black SR601, V23 Gulf Edition SR603, V72 Stone-Gray SR621 and V72 Gold SR620-1. Model listings and availability can change.
Marco Borraccino, Singer Reimagined co-founder and creative director, describes the idea as: “Heritage collection is our tribute to the soul of mechanical watchmaking, an ode to the enduring beauty of restoration done right.”
Which Valjoux movement powers each watch?
The answer depends on the reference. “Singer Heritage” alone is not enough to identify the calibre.

The 1974 introduction date is Singer’s historical claim. The sources cited here do not provide an independent verification of the restoration process or a comparative accuracy test.
What does the Heritage V72 Gold SR620-1 offer?
The SR620-1 is the reference for which Singer publishes detailed movement and case specifications. Singer describes its Calibre SG7201 as a manual-winding chronograph with central hours and minutes, large central chronograph seconds, a left small-seconds counter, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. The reserve figures are explicitly different depending on whether the chronograph is running; they should not be read as a single operating duration. Singer’s stated production limit does not establish whether the watch is currently available.

Singer specifies a black grained natural-leather strap, 20 mm wide at the attachment and tapering to 16 mm. The brand says other sizes are available on demand. Those measurements do not establish that a generic 20-to-16 mm strap will fit: confirm attachment and buckle compatibility with Singer or a qualified watchmaker before ordering a replacement.

How to identify the right Heritage chronograph
- For the Valjoux 236, look for a Heritage V23 reference: SR601, SR602 or SR603.
- For Singer’s stated restored Valjoux 72, the specific documented reference is Heritage V72 Gold SR620-1, with movement designation SG7201.
- Do not transfer the SR620-1’s gold case, dimensions, reserve, water resistance, production limit or strap details to other Heritage references without their own specifications.
