The “170 years” in its anniversary theme adds Laco’s 100th anniversary and Circula’s 70th, both marked in 2025; it does not describe 170 years of collaboration.
What is the Laco x Circula ProLab?
Laco and Circula are separate watch brands rooted in Pforzheim, Germany. Their ProLab collaboration grew from conversations and encounters in the city and at watch fairs between Circula’s Cornelius Huber and Laco’s Uwe Rücker. The name joins “Pro,” a nod to Circula’s ProTrail and Laco’s PRO models, with “Lab,” an experimental space for the two brands’ work; it also echoes “collab.” Circula’s collaboration page describes the project as a shared design effort between distinct brands.
The original plan was to create one joint watch. The partners instead developed two, aiming to express their individual design identities while giving the pair coordinated proportions, surfaces and details. Each caseback carries two gold dots marking the brands’ original locations, and the presentation includes a numbered gold-colored coin.
How do the ProLab Sand and Schwarz differ?
They are not simply two dial colors on the same watch. Sand follows Laco’s field-watch design language; Schwarz takes its layout from a Type-B pilot watch. Their cases, protective features and specifications differ as well.

For the model-specific movement descriptions in the table, Laco’s own wording is used; these are published specifications, not independent test results. Monochrome’s first look was published on 2 June 2026.
Why are there 170 ProLab sets?
The number combines Laco’s 100 years and Circula’s 70 years in 2025. The brands offered 170 sets, with the two watches sold together rather than separately, according to Monochrome. Laco’s announcement also describes a 170-set limited run and the dual-watch concept. Laco’s announcement and Circula’s ProLab page provide the anniversary context. The set was presented in an aluminum case with a numbered coin.
