What is the new Polo Sport collection?
Ralph Lauren’s April 2026 RL Mag story, “Made to Move”, presents Polo Sport as a standalone collection returning to the brand’s lineup. It says the first Limited Edition collection was due to drop May 30, followed by capsules in upcoming collections. The story does not state a year alongside May 30, so that date should not be treated as a confirmed future launch date.
The collection’s positioning joins athletic references with streetwear and sportswear styling. Ralph Lauren Corporation’s FY2026 Form 10-K, filed May 21, 2026, describes Polo Sport as combining “streetwear codes through the lens of sport style.”
How Polo Sport began
Ralph Lauren traces the original design work to 1991, ahead of the 1992 Olympic Summer Games in Barcelona. The team drew on track-and-field imagery, vintage athlete uniforms and 1930s Olympic posters. The resulting Stadium collection launched Polo Sport in 1992, according to the brand’s account.

Early Polo Sport ranged beyond track-inspired clothing. Ralph Lauren’s history describes sweatpants, zip-up sweatshirts, tank tops, swim trunks and ski parkas, as well as “USA” hoodies and denim. It also points to World Challenge and Snowboarding/Snow Beach capsules as archival references. These are historical touchpoints, not confirmation that those products are part of the current release. Jerry Lauren summed up the original approach in the RL Mag story: “It was streetwear for sport.”

What the return means for shoppers
The available examples suggest a return built around recognizable Polo Sport graphics and sport-influenced casual pieces, alongside accessories. They do not establish a single definitive launch assortment: the US product pages document selected items, while the UK collection page represents a separate market. Retail stock, size runs and pricing can change, so use the relevant country-specific Ralph Lauren page to verify what is actually available.
The Fall 2026 show adds a runway context, not a promise of retail availability. Vogue’s report also quotes John Wrazej, senior brand creative director of men’s Polo, saying: “He wanted to present Polo and Purple Label together to show from the youngest attitude to the most sophisticated.” That comment describes the show’s presentation; it is distinct from confirmation of any particular Polo Sport product listing.
