The Schwarz Etienne Geometry Cherry is a stainless-steel automatic watch distinguished by a vivid cherry-red, hand-guilloché dial. Its 39mm case is relatively compact by the dimensions reported in 2024, but the dial is deliberately unconventional: there are no hour indices, and the minute track is broken into segments. It is a watch whose visual texture takes precedence over at-a-glance legibility.
What is the Schwarz Etienne Geometry Cherry?
The Geometry Cherry is a red-dial edition of Schwarz Etienne’s Geometry line, designed by Eric Giroud. Denis Peshkov’s Monochrome Watches first-look article, published on 17 September 2024, described it as part of the collection’s permanent lineup at that time. Earlier silver and salmon versions were also noted, but the article does not establish their current availability.
The defining feature is a cherry-red gold dial base made by Metalem. Its surface is divided into four hand-guilloché sections: fluted, azuré, and Clous de Paris patterns appear at different scales and depths. Black sandblasted sections of the minute track and a black small-seconds subdial interrupt the red, while lance-shaped hands provide the time display.
How easy is the red dial to read?
This is not a conventional legibility-first layout. The dial has no hour indices, and its minute track is discontinuous, with one- and five-minute intervals. The contrast between red, black, and the textured gold base makes for a strong visual composition, but it can take more effort to read precisely than a dial with clear hour markers and a continuous track. Peshkov described the arrangement as making “precise time reading somewhat challenging.”

The micro-rotor automatic calibre keeps the winding rotor integrated into the movement rather than using a full-size rotor over it. Monochrome’s listed 86-hour reserve and the movement’s 30.40mm-by-5.35mm dimensions are useful technical context, though they do not by themselves indicate how the watch performs in daily use.
