The Frederique Constant x Time+Tide Highlife Moonphase Date Manufacture – Onyx Moon is a 100-piece collaboration built around a polished black onyx dial and the automatic FC-716 manufacture movement. Its US listed price was $6,095 on Frederique Constant’s product page when checked on October 8, 2026; that is not the same as the lower prices Time+Tide reported at launch.
What is the Onyx Moon?
It is a limited-edition Highlife Moonphase Date Manufacture watch, reference FC-716ONB3NH6B, created by Frederique Constant with watch publication and retailer Time+Tide. Frederique Constant identifies the edition as 100 pieces worldwide. Time+Tide’s launch announcement described sales through Frederique Constant, Time+Tide and its Watch Discovery Studios in London and Melbourne; those launch channels do not establish present-day stock.
The collaboration introduced the first Manufacture moonphase in the Highlife collection and, according to Frederique Constant, the collection’s first integrated five-link steel bracelet. The manufacturer describes the watch as “1 OUT OF 100” on its caseback.

How does the dial and case design differ?
The dial is a smooth, polished sheet of natural black onyx. It has no hour indices, leaving the hands, moon display and date as the visual markers against the uninterrupted surface. Frederique Constant describes a silver-coloured moon disc and small red details on the 31st date and the word “GENEVE.”
The no-index layout is a deliberate aesthetic choice, but it gives less conventional visual guidance for reading the time than a dial with printed or applied hour markers. The 39 mm steel case is paired with the five-link bracelet, and the manufacturer includes a black rubber strap as an alternative. The stated 24 mm lug width alone does not confirm compatibility with every third-party strap.

What does it cost?
Prices vary by source, market and date, so the figures should not be treated as one current worldwide price. Frederique Constant’s US page displayed $6,095 when accessed on October 8, 2026. Time+Tide’s launch article, published about ten months before that date, reported launch prices of US$5,695, £4,350, A$8,695 and €4,895. The launch figures are historical terms, not current quotes for every market.
Frederique Constant’s international page mentions dispatch from 1 February but gives no year in the returned product text. Neither that wording nor the US page’s purchase controls confirms current inventory. Check with the seller for live availability and the applicable local price.

Is the Onyx Moon worth its price?
Its value proposition is clearest for someone who specifically wants the combination of a natural onyx dial, a moonphase with date, the FC-716 movement and a 100-piece collaborative edition. The 72-hour reserve and steel bracelet-plus-rubber-strap configuration make it a fully specified daily-wear option on paper, while the 10 ATM rating is substantially more than a dress-only splash rating.
The trade-off is that the watch’s strongest design feature also reduces conventional dial legibility: there are no hour indices. Its limited run and collaboration identity may matter to collectors, but the edition size alone does not establish future resale value. Buyers comparing it with other Highlife Moonphase Manufacture references should weigh dial legibility, bracelet and strap configuration, dimensions, water resistance and the price available in their market; the available product information does not establish a complete current price comparison across those models.
