This is a routine maintenance update, not a major feature release. If your watch offers it, install it through the Galaxy Wearable app when convenient. Availability varies by model, region, carrier, and rollout stage, and this March build may already have been superseded by a later update.

The available changelog does not specify which parts of performance were improved. It does not claim new health features, longer battery life, better GPS, or a redesigned interface, so owners should not expect those changes from this release. Droid Life reported the build and changelog details.

Which Galaxy Watch Ultra is covered?
The reported U.S. rollout is for the original 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra LTE, commonly identified in the U.S. model family as SM-L705U. Its reported firmware build is:

That build should not be treated as a universal identifier. Samsung can use different firmware for international models, carrier variants, and different rollout stages.
Also, do not confuse the original Ultra with the separately listed Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025). This update report concerns the original hardware.
How to download the update
The most reliable way to check is through the connected Android phone:
- Put the watch on its charger, or make sure it has ample battery.
- Keep the watch close to the connected phone.
- Open Galaxy Wearable.
- Tap Watch settings.
- Tap Watch software update.
- Tap Download and install.
- Let the watch restart and complete the installation without interruption.
Samsung’s menu labels can vary slightly by phone, app version, region, and watch software. Samsung’s support instructions are the authority for the current update interface.

Depending on the model and software version, you may also be able to check for updates directly from the watch’s Settings app. For this rollout, however, Galaxy Wearable is the safer starting point.
Should you install it?
Yes, when it is offered and you have time to complete the process. The concrete benefit is the February security patch, while the reported performance improvements may help general reliability without producing an obvious new feature.
Avoid starting the update immediately before a workout, travel, or another activity that depends on the watch. If the battery is low, charge it first. The watch may restart and be temporarily unavailable during installation, and the process can take longer than an ordinary app update.
How to verify the installed build
After the update finishes, open the watch’s software-information screen and compare the displayed firmware with L705USQU3BZB5. Treat that number as a reference for the reported U.S. rollout, not as a requirement every owner must see.

Your number may be different if:
- You are outside the United States.
- Your LTE watch is tied to a different carrier.
- Samsung has issued a later replacement build.
- The March rollout has already been superseded.
- You own the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), rather than the original Ultra.
If the watch reports that it is up to date on a newer build, keep the newer software. Do not downgrade or manually flash firmware based only on this report.

1. Allow for a staged rollout
Firmware is often released in phases. A missing update does not automatically mean your watch is unsupported or malfunctioning. Check again later.
2. Confirm the model and region
The reported build is a U.S. reference for the original Ultra LTE model family. International versions and carrier variants may receive different build numbers or release dates.
3. Check the connection
Make sure the phone and watch are connected, Bluetooth is enabled, and the phone has internet access. Updating Galaxy Wearable and related Samsung wearable components may also help if the app is behaving unexpectedly.

4. Check battery and storage
Charge the watch and confirm that it has enough available storage. Then reopen Galaxy Wearable and check the software-update page again.
5. Do not use unofficial firmware sources
Do not download firmware from third-party mirrors or use unofficial flashing tools to force the update. If the watch repeatedly fails to install or becomes stuck, contact Samsung support through its official wearable software support channel.
If installation fails
- Keep the phone and watch close together.
- Charge the watch.
- Restart both the phone and watch.
- Reopen Galaxy Wearable.
- Check for the update again.
- Contact Samsung if the watch remains stuck or the installation repeatedly fails.
A factory reset should not be an early troubleshooting step: it can erase watch data and is not established as necessary for this firmware.
If battery life seems worse afterward
Do not automatically assume the March update caused a permanent battery problem. Allow a full charge cycle or two, restart the watch, check for app updates, and review battery usage. If severe drain continues, contact Samsung support.
Considering an upgrade?
Samsung lists the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) separately at $649.99 for the 47mm LTE model on its U.S. buying page, with promotions and trade-in credits subject to change. A routine security and performance update for the original Ultra is not, by itself, a reason to replace a functioning watch.
The Bottom Line
If your original U.S. Galaxy Watch Ultra offers L705USQU3BZB5, install it through Galaxy Wearable after charging the watch and choosing a convenient time. If it does not appear, check the model, region, carrier, current software version, and rollout timing before assuming there is a problem.
