Google announced on October 9, 2024, that its 100% Charge Notification had been released to all Pixel Watch devices. The alert appears on the connected phone when the watch reaches full charge, is on by default, and clears when the watch is taken off its charger. The announcement completed a rollout that had been limited and inconsistent when first spotted in November 2023.
How the Pixel Watch full-charge notification works
When the watch reaches 100%, it sends a notification to the connected phone. Google describes the feature as a phone alert—not a new watch-face complication or an alert that you need to find on the watch. Google says the notification is automatically dismissed when you remove the watch from its charger.
Early coverage observed wording such as “Pixel Watch fully charged” and “Your watch is at 100%.” That is an example, not a guaranteed label: Google’s announcement does not promise identical text across phone versions or languages. The alert is distinct from low-battery warnings and other charging reminders.
Which Pixel Watch models get it?
Google said the feature was released to “all Pixel Watch devices,” without limiting the announcement to a particular generation. That includes the original Pixel Watch under Google’s stated compatibility claim; it is not a model-by-model test. The initial rollout looked narrower: in November 2023, reports described inconsistent availability on some Pixel Watch 2 devices, with original-watch support then unclear.

The November 2023 report associated early sightings with Pixel Watch app version 2.1.0.576785526. That is historical context, not a current version requirement.
Do you need to enable it?
No. Google said the notification is enabled by default and requires no settings change. In normal use, keep the watch paired and connected to the phone, leave it on the charger until it reaches 100%, and look for the notification on the phone. Google has not specified what happens in every edge case, such as when the phone is powered off or out of Bluetooth range while the watch charges.

If the notification does not appear
Check the straightforward connection and notification conditions before changing broad settings. Menu names vary by Android and Pixel Watch app version, so treat these as general places to look rather than a guaranteed current menu path.
- Confirm the watch has reached 100% and remains on the charger long enough for the alert to appear.
- Check that the watch is paired with the Pixel Watch app and connected to the phone.
- On the phone, check that Pixel Watch app notifications are allowed in Android’s system notification settings.
- Inspect the Pixel Watch app’s notification settings and Android notification categories for a blocked category that could cover device notices.
- Install available Pixel Watch app and watch software updates, then restart both devices and try another charge to 100%.
- If it still fails, send feedback through the Pixel Watch app.
These checks identify possible causes, not confirmed explanations for a missing alert. Google’s announcement does not document behavior under background restrictions, delayed phone processing, or every connectivity condition.

Can you turn off only the full-charge alert?
Google’s October 2024 announcement says the feature is on by default but does not document a dedicated off switch. Users in Google’s community discussion reported difficulty disabling only this alert. Check the Pixel Watch app’s notification categories first; if no specific control is available, Android’s system notification settings may offer broader controls, but turning off a whole category could also silence other watch-status or Fitbit-related notices. The available information does not establish that the alert is impossible to disable on every current software version.

Google presented the alert as a reminder to put the watch back on and resume health and activity tracking, while discouraging unnecessary time left on the charger. The stated rationale does not establish that the notification itself meaningfully improves battery health. For users who charge the watch overnight or do not want another phone alert, the lack of a clearly documented individual toggle may be inconvenient.
