Grand Seiko’s “4 Seasons” is a useful shorthand for four 62GS-inspired watches whose dials evoke different points in the Japanese year. The key buying distinction is movement and case: SBGA413 and SBGA415 combine Spring Drive Caliber 9R65 with high-intensity titanium; SBGH271 and SBGH273 combine mechanical high-beat Caliber 9S85 with stainless steel. Choose between those two pairs first, then decide which seasonal dial speaks to you.
What does “Grand Seiko 4 Seasons” mean?
It describes four seasonal dial stories, not four watches with identical mechanics. All draw on the 62GS design lineage. Grand Seiko identifies the 62GS as its first automatic mechanical watch, introduced in 1967; the modern design is known for a bezel-less structure in which the glass is fixed directly to the case body. Grand Seiko’s 62GS collection provides the brand’s design context.
The quartet divides neatly into two movement-and-material groups: the titanium Spring Drive SBGA413 and SBGA415, and the stainless-steel high-beat mechanical SBGH271 and SBGH273.

How the seasonal dials differ
SBGA413: spring blossoms
Hana-Ikada means the image of cherry blossoms drifting on a river. Grand Seiko describes the pink dial as inspired by blossoms floating along a river around the spring equinox. The soft pink gives SBGA413 the most overtly floral expression in the group. Grand Seiko SBGA413
SBGA415: winter snow
SBGA415’s light-gray dial takes its cue from deep snow in Shinshu, the region associated with Grand Seiko’s watchmaking. The seasonal reference is Taisetsu, a heavy snowfall; the design pairs a subdued color with a textured, wintry surface. Grand Seiko SBGA415

SBGH271: early-summer green
SBGH271 evokes Rikka, the start of summer in the traditional seasonal calendar, and Kunpuu, a fresh breeze through greenery. Its green dial is the group’s clearest warm-season counterpoint to the cooler winter and autumnal tones. Grand Seiko SBGH271
SBGH273: autumnal indigo
SBGH273’s deep-indigo dial evokes a clear night sky around the autumnal equinox. Set beside SBGH271, it offers the most direct visual contrast among the steel high-beat pair: green early-summer foliage against a dark, clear autumn night. Grand Seiko SBGH273

Spring Drive or high-beat mechanical?
SBGA413 and SBGA415: Spring Drive 9R65
Both titanium models use automatic Spring Drive Caliber 9R65 and have an approximately 72-hour power reserve according to their official product pages. The published case dimensions are identical: 40.0 mm across, 47.0 mm lug-to-lug and 12.8 mm thick. Each page also lists 10 bar water resistance, 102 g weight and a 21 mm band width. Choose between them primarily by dial preference: pink spring blossoms or gray winter snow.
SBGH271 and SBGH273: mechanical high-beat 9S85
The steel pair uses automatic mechanical high-beat Caliber 9S85, rather than Spring Drive. Both have published case dimensions of 40.0 × 47.0 × 12.9 mm. Grand Seiko’s Japan page for SBGH273 states a 55-hour duration at maximum winding. It also lists 10 bar water resistance, 153 g weight and a 21 mm band width. The cited SBGH271 page does not establish those additional figures, so they are not included for that reference.

Case material, dimensions and wearing feel
The two Spring Drive watches use high-intensity titanium, while the high-beat pair use stainless steel. The available official specifications put SBGA413 and SBGA415 at 102 g and SBGH273 at 153 g; that comparison is useful for understanding the listed models, but SBGH271’s weight is not stated on its cited product page. The steel pair is also 0.1 mm thicker by the published case measurements. Case diameter and lug-to-lug are the same across all four: 40 mm and 47 mm.
These measurements offer a more useful fit comparison than diameter alone: lug-to-lug gives a sense of how far the case spans the wrist, while thickness affects how high it sits. Try the watch on if possible, since wrist shape and bracelet adjustment affect fit. The specifications do not establish how every wearer will experience either metal or case profile.
