The Hublot Classic Fusion Titanium Green 45 mm pairs a restrained, round titanium case with a vivid sunray dial and the six H-shaped screws that make the bezel unmistakably Hublot. Its defining question is practical: how does a 45 mm watch wear? A 2022 reviewer found it balanced on his 18 cm wrist, but also reported strap-fit and crown discomfort—useful firsthand context, not a guarantee of fit for another wrist.

What is the Hublot Classic Fusion Titanium Green 45 mm?

The current US model is reference 511.NX.8970.RX, an automatic three-hand watch with a date display, rather than a chronograph. Hublot’s specification lists a 45 mm case made of satin-finished and polished titanium, a matching titanium bezel secured by six H-shaped titanium screws, and a satin-finished green sunray dial. The crystal is sapphire with anti-reflective treatment. Hublot’s official product page gives the complete current specification.

The design has a clear material contrast: the muted, light-colored titanium case surrounds a dial whose appearance shifts with the light. Jorg Weppelink, writing for Fratello on February 16, 2022, describes the bezel as porthole-inspired and recounts Hublot founder Carlo Crocco’s original Classic as a pairing of yellow gold and rubber. Weppelink frames the Classic Fusion as a continuation of that material-mixing idea, which he connects to Crocco’s interest in sailing. That history is his account of the design lineage, not a claim that this 45 mm model is a sailing or dive instrument.

How does the 45 mm case wear?

Weppelink tried the watch on his 18 cm wrist and called the 45 mm case large, while noting its reported 10.95 mm thickness and slim profile. He found it balanced and easy to wear overall. That combination matters: diameter gives the watch a broad presence, while the relatively slim profile can keep it from feeling tall on the wrist. His experience is one reviewer’s, however, and does not establish how it will fit other wrist sizes or shapes.

The fit was not wholly comfortable for him. He found that the strap holes offered a choice between a fit that was too tight and one loose enough for the watch to move; he also reported discomfort from the crown and the wide clasp button. Anyone considering the watch should try the exact configuration on in person if possible, paying attention to the crown against the wrist and to whether the strap can be adjusted comfortably.

Weppelink’s own preference was for the 42 mm size and a black dial. Those are personal preferences, not evidence that the 45 mm green version is unsuitable. Hublot’s Classic Fusion collection has also been presented in 33, 38, and 42 mm sizes, alongside other dial and material variants; compare exact references rather than assuming that dimensions or fit carry across versions.

What stands out on the green dial?

The dial’s sunray finish is the visual centerpiece. Weppelink says its green shifts with the lighting and viewing angle, giving it more visual movement than a flat, uniform surface. He notes twelve applied hour markers, a double marker at 12, polished hands, and a seconds hand with an Hublot-logo counterweight. The result keeps the layout conventional and legible while letting color and reflections supply most of the character.

What movement and power reserve does it have?

Hublot identifies the movement as the HUB1112 self-winding movement and currently specifies an approximately 48-hour power reserve. Weppelink’s February 2022 Fratello review says the HUB1112 is based on the Sellita SW300-1 and lists 28,800 vibrations per hour, 25 jewels, and a 42-hour reserve. These figures come from different sources and dates; the published reserve numbers differ, so neither should be silently substituted for the other.

Weppelink also reports that the movement can be seen through a sapphire display back and describes its finishing as simple and industrial. The current Hublot specification extract lists a sapphire crystal but does not state a caseback material, so the display-back detail here is attributed to that 2022 review.

What strap comes with reference 511.NX.8970.RX?

Hublot’s current US page describes the RX reference’s strap as green lined rubber, fitted with a stainless-steel deployant buckle clasp. The Fratello review of the RX watch describes the strap it handled as black rubber layered with green alligator leather. Because the descriptions differ, check the actual watch and configuration being offered instead of assuming every RX listing matches one description.

Hublot Classic Fusion 45mm Rose Gold Green Dial Watch 511.OX.8980.LR
  • Green sunray satin finished dial.
  • Rose Gold Case
  • Green Strap
  • Hublot Caliber HUB1112, beats at 28,800 vph, composed out of 63 parts, contains 21 Jewels & has an approximate power reserve of 42 hours.

Suffixes matter. Tourneau’s listing is for 511.NX.8970.LR, a distinct reference suffix, and describes an alligator/crocodile strap. It is not the official RX reference, and its configuration should not be treated as proof of what comes with the RX. Ask Hublot or the seller to confirm the exact reference, strap, clasp, and condition of the individual watch; do not assume an aftermarket strap will fit.

Is it suitable for swimming?

Hublot rates reference 511.NX.8970.RX at 50 m / 5 ATM water resistance. That rating should not be confused with a dive-watch specification: the porthole-like bezel and sailing-related design story do not change the stated rating. Follow Hublot’s guidance for the specific watch and have its water resistance checked as appropriate, particularly before exposing a pre-owned watch to water.

How much does the green 45 mm Classic Fusion cost?

A current US suggested retail price for reference 511.NX.8970.RX was not stated on the retrieved Hublot product page. Fratello listed a price of €7,200 in its February 16, 2022 review; that is historical, not a current quote. Tourneau displayed $8,700 for reference 511.NX.8970.LR in a listing accessed October 7, 2026. That is a volatile retailer listing for a different suffix, not the present price of the RX. Availability, taxes, market, and configuration can affect what a buyer is quoted.

For a current offer, ask an authorized Hublot retailer or the seller for a written quote that names the full reference and strap configuration. A price attached to another suffix or an older article is not a reliable substitute.
