Ferenczi found its roughly 15 mm thickness more noticeable than its diameter, but said it remained comfortable on his wrist. The impressions and prices below are historical; current production, pricing and availability are not established.
What the 2016 review found on the wrist
Ferenczi placed the watch in Fortis’s Aviatis pilot-watch collection and connected it to the brand’s B-42 line. He described a brushed steel case, drilled lugs with screws securing the strap, and a display caseback. Although the case measures 42 mm across, he felt its bulk showed more in its approximately 15 mm thickness. The strap softened the visual mass for him, and he did not find the watch uncomfortable. That is one reviewer’s fit impression, not a guarantee for every wrist.
For anyone considering a similar-sized watch, thickness and how the lugs sit on the wrist may matter as much as diameter. Trying it on, if possible, is the best way to judge its proportions.
Dial layout and legibility
The matte black dial has white luminous markers and sword-shaped hour and minute hands. Its day-date display sits at 3 o’clock; the running-seconds register is at 9, the 12-hour chronograph counter at 6, and the 30-minute counter at 12. Ferenczi also noted a crosshair-like detail in the small-seconds register and a triangle flanked by two dots at 12.

There is an unresolved movement-label difference between the sources. Ferenczi identified the movement in his 2016 review as a Valjoux 7750 with 25 jewels and a 48-hour reserve; the Fortis Japan page identifies Cal. UW-50 and also lists a 48-hour reserve. The available sources do not explain the naming relationship, so the labels should not be treated as interchangeable or reconciled without further evidence.
Strap options and the prices reported in 2016
Ferenczi’s June 3, 2016 review described brown leather, performance leather, crocodile, rubber or silicone, and metal-bracelet options. The historical prices he reported were:

Fortis Japan’s page lists ¥407,000 including tax (¥370,000 before tax) for a bracelet specification, but the page does not establish whether that price is currently applicable. None of these figures should be read as a current quote, and the sources do not establish which configurations remain available.

Ferenczi called it “a usable, clean designed, great looking tool watch.” The appeal he describes is straightforward: a clearly laid-out pilot-style dial, chronograph and day-date functions, robust-looking steel construction, and substantial water-resistance specifications. Its main consideration for fit is its thickness; buyers should also verify the exact reference and movement identification for the individual watch they are considering.
