Tomas Rosputinsky wore and assessed the prototype’s design and finish; movement details in the article refer to the planned launch specification, not a movement tested in that sample.
Which Yema Superman GMT does the review cover?
It covers the Superman GMT Bronze Black Limited Edition, a bronze-cased watch presented ahead of its Kickstarter campaign. The article’s title can give the wrong impression if read as a movement test: the sample sent to Fratello was a prototype fitted with a standard movement. The planned YEMA3000 GMT was discussed as a forthcoming specification.
The review describes a black gradient dial, bronze-colored applied details, a red-tipped GMT hand, and a sapphire bezel. Campaign options included black or blue dial-and-bezel combinations and 39mm or 41mm case sizes. These are historical descriptions of the 2020 project, not a guide to current catalog offerings. Read Tomas Rosputinsky’s Fratello review.
What did the reviewer say about wearing and design?
Rosputinsky said he wore the prototype for a week and praised its finish and design. His impressions are his own, not an independent WatchRanker test. He described the GMT hand as a black stick with a broad red triangular tip, and praised the patented bezel lock at 3 o’clock. His phrase for the applied details was: “The shiny bronze frames look like little private lume ponds.”

What movement was actually in the prototype?
The reviewed prototype used a standard movement, not the planned YEMA3000 GMT. Fratello’s 2020 article said the planned caliber was an evolution of the MBP1000 and listed 29 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 A/h, and an expected daily rate within +/-10 seconds. The article did not report a test of those specifications on the review sample.
Vanessa Ke, identified in the article as YEMA’s Press and Public Relations Manager, described the planned caliber this way: “Yema 3000 will be the first French GMT in-house caliber in this price range,“ says Vanessa Ke, Yema Press and Public Relations Manager. That is a manufacturer representative’s claim as reported by Fratello, not an independently established category-wide fact.

- GMT - With its sophisticated tonal GMT index and prominent red triangle GMT hand, this watch can be set to track a second time zone.
- Stainless Steel - The durable stainless-steel case and bracelet are resistant to corrosion, rust, and daily wear and tear.
- Date Window - Easily track the date in a dedicated window beside 3 o'clock.
- Thoughtfully Detailed - This watch features a vintage-style domed acrylic crystal, a lustrous sunray dial, and faceted markers.
YEMA’s current page for the separate Navygraf Marine Nationale GMT lists a YEMA3000 GMT, automatic operation, a 42-hour power reserve, and a +/-10 seconds/day adjusted daily rate. Those details belong to that Navygraf listing and should not be transferred to the bronze Superman reference without model-specific evidence. The Superman Slim CMM.20 is another separate watch; its micro-rotor movement and 70-hour reserve are not specifications for the YEMA3000 GMT.
What did the 2020 specification list say?
Fratello’s launch-era specification block named the model “Superman GMT Bronze Black Limited Edition.” The following figures and features describe the 2020 article and campaign, not necessarily a current listing or every watch in the Superman GMT family.

| Price and edition | €750 launch price; 1,948 individually numbered watches in the total limited run. |
| Case and water resistance | 39mm standard case, with a 41mm option; listed water resistance of 30 bar / 300 m. This is a stated rating, not an independent test or a recommendation to use the watch at that depth. |
| Functions | Hours, minutes, seconds, date, and GMT. |
| Planned movement | Self-winding YEMA3000 GMT with ball-bearing rotor; 29 jewels and 28,800 A/h listed for the planned caliber. The review prototype did not contain it. |
| Crystal and bezel | 2.60mm double-domed sapphire crystal; unidirectional 0–24 GMT bezel with an aluminium insert under a sapphire ring and a lock at 3 o’clock. |
| Straps | Leather or TPU options were listed. |
| Planned daily rate | Within +/-10 seconds per day, as a launch-era stated specification—not a measured result from the prototype. |
How should you choose between the 39mm and 41mm sizes?
The 2020 article establishes that both sizes were offered; it does not provide wrist measurements, lug-to-lug dimensions, or a fit comparison. A 7-inch wrist alone is not enough to determine which will wear better. Consider the watch’s full case proportions and how much dial and bezel presence you prefer, then try the exact size if possible. The review’s comments include a reader weighing the two sizes for a 7-inch wrist, but that individual question does not establish a generally suitable size.
Does the review establish whether it is a traveller or office GMT?
No. Although the article describes a GMT display and a 0–24 bezel, it does not robustly establish the adjustment mechanism needed to classify this model as a traveller (or “true”) GMT or an office GMT. A commenter raised the distinction, but comments and speculation do not settle the watch’s mechanism. Confirm the movement and independent-hour-hand adjustment for the exact reference before relying on it for a particular GMT use case.

Is the bronze limited edition available now, and what does it cost?
The article establishes a €750 launch price and a 1,948-watch total run in its 2020 campaign context. It does not establish present-day stock, resale prices, or current official support status. If considering a listing, verify the exact reference, case size, condition, included strap, and movement rather than assuming it matches the reviewed prototype or the campaign specification.
The article lists leather and TPU straps, but it does not establish replacement-strap compatibility for this 2020 reference. Check lug width, end-link fit, and model compatibility before ordering a replacement.
