What is the Hangzhou 5000A movement?
The Hangzhou 5000A micro-rotor is an automatic mechanical watch movement made by Hangzhou Watch Co., according to movement-reference pages. In a conventional automatic movement, a full-size rotor sits over much of the mechanism. In the 5000A’s micro-rotor layout, the smaller winding rotor is integrated among the bridges, leaving more of the movement visible through a display caseback. This construction is also used in pursuit of a slimmer movement, though the movement’s listed height alone does not establish the thickness of any complete watch.

Why does the jewel count differ?
Caliber Corner lists 34 jewels, while the Watch Movements Archive lists 30. Neither cited page resolves the discrepancy, so it is not sound to present either figure as definitive. If jewel count matters for a purchase or service inquiry, ask the seller or watchmaker to confirm the specification for the exact movement fitted to that watch.
What watches use the Hangzhou 5000A?
Caliber Corner identifies the following as applications of the movement. Treat these as model leads rather than a guarantee that every production revision, market version or seller listing uses a standard 5000A.

Caliber Corner distinguishes a custom Baltany caliber from the off-the-shelf 5000A. Check the exact reference and the seller’s movement description before assuming two watches share the same caliber.
Is the Hangzhou 5000A reliable and serviceable?
The cited specifications do not establish long-term reliability, and they do not provide independent accuracy testing. Caliber Corner lists ±25 seconds per day, but that is a reference-page rating rather than a guarantee for every cased watch; an individual watch’s regulation and condition matter.

Service access deserves particular attention. Caliber Corner reports limited parts availability and says finding a local watchmaker willing to work on the movement may be difficult. That is a source-reported concern, not proof that no watchmaker can service it. Before buying, ask the brand or seller what warranty applies, whether parts or a complete replacement movement can be supplied, and who will handle service after the warranty period. The cited references do not establish service terms for individual watch models.

- Exact caliber: Confirm whether the watch uses a standard Hangzhou 5000A or a commissioned or modified variant.
- Watch dimensions: Compare the complete watch’s case thickness and dimensions; the movement’s 3.95 mm height is not the finished case thickness.
- Functions and reserve: Verify the specific model’s date and small-seconds layout and treat its stated reserve as a published rating, not a tested result.
- Regulation: Ask who regulated the watch and what accuracy claim, if any, applies to that exact example.
- After-sales support: Get clear answers on warranty, parts supply and service or replacement options before purchase.
