The Heritage Submariner HS01 is a 2013 Project X Designs customization of the no-date Rolex Submariner reference 114060, styled to recall early “big crown” Submariners. It was reported as a 60-piece edition, not a factory Rolex model. Its vintage-inspired changes include removed crown guards, a large Brevet crown, beveled lugs, a red bezel triangle, aged-look luminous material and a white seconds hand.
What is the Heritage Submariner HS01?
The HS01 was a limited customization built on the stainless steel, no-date Rolex Submariner reference 114060. Christie’s describes it as a collaboration involving Philip Stahl, Daniel Bourn and Project X Designs, created as a homage to early “big crown” Submariners. The available records describe a modified Rolex, not a Submariner model manufactured by Rolex.
Monochrome Watches and OceanicTime reported an edition of 60 pieces in 2013; Christie’s later catalogued an example numbered 021/060. The edition size is reported in contemporary coverage, while the numbered Christie’s example provides a documented instance.
How is the HS01 different from a standard Submariner 114060?
The HS01 retains the 114060 as its base but changes the case, crown, bezel and dial details to create an older visual character. Christie’s specifications below describe its catalogued example; they should not be treated as a current manufacturer specification sheet.

Monochrome’s 2013 account also identifies beige Super-LumiNova and polished beveled case sides. Together, the changes emphasize vintage styling rather than a different movement or a new Rolex reference.
What did the HS01 cost, and what is it worth now?
The published figures are historical or specific to individual auction lots; none establishes a current market value or current availability.

- $10,000–$20,000: Loupe This published this estimate for a particular HS01 auction lot. An estimate is not a completed sale price.
European Watch Company has also displayed an HS01 example marked sold, but that page does not establish a current asking price. The available records therefore confirm past sale activity, not that another HS01 is available or what one should cost today.

- Documentation of the Project X Designs customization, including any available papers or provenance linking that particular watch to the HS01 edition.
- Condition of the modified case, especially the crown-guard removal and lug bevels, along with the crown, bezel, dial and hands.
- What is included with the watch and whether the listing’s photographs and description clearly show the actual example.
- The date and context of any quoted price: a 2013 retail figure, a 2016 auction result and an estimate for another lot are not interchangeable measures of today’s value.
