What is the Tribute2 Copper Edition?
Armin Strom announced the Tribute2 Copper Edition on 2 December 2024, reference ST24-TRI.HM.AC.M.A4.FC. The company limited the release to ten pieces and said it could be purchased through its website or Instagram channel at launch. Those details describe the original announcement, not current stock. The watch belongs to the Tribute2 line and puts the movement’s decoration at the center of the design. Claude Greisler, Armin Strom co-founder and master watchmaker, said the model builds on the Tribute 1 launched in 2021. He framed its approach around visible mechanics, three-dimensional depth and hand decoration. That is the manufacturer’s stated intent; the practical question for a prospective owner is whether the exposed, highly finished movement is the appeal or simply more visual activity than they want from a 38 mm watch.
What makes the copper-colored movement distinctive?
Hand-applied grattage on the mainplate
The mainplate is copper-colored and finished with grattage. Armin Strom describes the technique as scraping the material by hand, rather than engraving, hammering or polishing it; the copper-colored PVD coating is intended to accentuate the resulting texture. The mainplate is therefore not simply a smooth copper-colored backdrop: the surface treatment is the visual point. Layers of contrasting finishes
An off-center fumé grey dial sits against the movement, framed by a hand-polished, hand-beveled steel ring. The hands and indexes are coated in 18K 5N rose gold. Elsewhere, the motor barrel is skeletonized with hand-beveled openings, and its steel bridge is described as hand black-polished. Armin Strom also identifies a visible click and click bridge, plus circular graining on the winding wheels.
Through the sapphire case back, the company specifies a three-quarter bridge with a 30-degree hand-polished bevel, Geneva stripes and circular graining. Taken together, the finishes create a mix of copper, grey, rose-gold tone, polished steel and darkened steel rather than a single-color movement treatment.

What movement does it use, and how long is the power reserve?
The Tribute2 Copper Edition uses Armin Strom’s in-house, hand-wound Calibre AMW21. The manufacturer specifies a 100-hour power reserve, a frequency of 3.5 Hz (25,200 vibrations per hour), 21 jewels and 137 components. It describes the movement’s motor-barrel arrangement as one in which the arbor rotates around the mainspring, and also specifies a variable-inertia balance wheel and flat overcoil spring. A 100-hour stated reserve is useful if the watch is rotated with others: in principle, it can run for more than four days after a full wind. Actual running time for an individual watch is not established by the specification alone.

How large is the case, and what are the wear specifications?

The 38 mm diameter and 9 mm official height suggest a relatively compact case, though the prominent movement and off-center dial may give it more visual presence than a plain-dial watch of the same diameter. The stated 5 ATM water resistance is a specification, not a reason to treat a complicated dress-oriented watch as suitable for every water activity; follow Armin Strom’s current care guidance. The Copper Edition makes the strongest case for someone who values movement decoration as a primary feature, wants a hand-wound watch with a long stated reserve, and prefers a 38 mm steel case over a larger, more imposing format. Its appeal is unusually specific: grattage, visible mechanics and layered finishing are the point, not subtlety. A buyer prioritizing verified current pricing, uncomplicated dial legibility or established water-use guidance should get those details directly from the manufacture or retailer before deciding.
