The Singer Heritage Collection pairs restored historic chronograph movements with contemporary cases—but “vintage Valjoux-powered” does not mean every model uses the same calibre. The V23 models use a restored Valjoux 236; the V72 Gold uses a restored Valjoux 72. Singer’s approach is restoration, not a straightforward reissue of an old watch.
What is the Singer Heritage Collection?
Singer Reimagined describes Heritage as a collection built around original historic chronograph movements. According to the brand, each calibre is sourced, dismantled, restored, hand-finished and rebuilt before being fitted into a contemporary Singer case. Singer calls this a revival rather than a reissue. The current collection page lists five models: V23 Piano Black SR601, V23 Empire Green SR602, V23 Gulf Edition SR603, V72 Gold SR620-1 and V72 Stone-Gray SR621 (Singer Heritage Collection).
The name Singer Reimagined refers to the watch brand, not Singer Vehicle Design, the separate company known for Porsche restorations. The official brand-family page says Singer Reimagined was established in Geneva in 2017 (Singer brand-family page).
What movement is in the Singer Heritage?
It depends on the model. Singer identifies the V23 family with calibre SR2361, based on a restored Valjoux 236, while the V72 Gold uses calibre SG7201, based on a restored Valjoux 72. These are different movement families, so it would be inaccurate to describe every Heritage model as using a Valjoux 236—or to treat the 236 and 72 as interchangeable.

Singer says the Valjoux 236 was introduced in 1974 and is now restored for Heritage (Singer movement page). For the V72 Gold, the brand says the original Valjoux 72 movement was produced more than 60 years ago and had never previously been assembled (Singer V72 Gold SR620-1 page). Those historical descriptions are Singer’s; they do not, by themselves, establish a complete independent history of either movement family.
What is the difference between the Singer Heritage V23 and V72?
The clearest documented comparison is between the V23 Empire Green SR602 and the V72 Gold SR620-1. The specifications below are for those two references specifically, not every model in either family.

Specifications are from Singer’s model pages: V23 Empire Green SR602 and V72 Gold SR620-1. Singer also lists a khaki-green textile strap for the SR602, measuring 20 mm and tapering to 16 mm. That published dimension applies to this reference; it does not establish fit for other Heritage models or aftermarket straps.
Hot take: restoration is the collection’s real proposition
Analysis: Heritage’s most distinctive idea is not simply putting a vintage movement in a new case. It is presenting restoration as the watch’s central value: an old chronograph calibre is brought back into use, then set within a contemporary design. That makes the collection a deliberate meeting of historical mechanism and modern presentation rather than a replica of a period watch.

That premise is compelling, but it should not be confused with proof of superior timekeeping, durability or comparative performance. Singer’s pages document its restoration process and publish model specifications; they are brand claims, not independent test results. Marco Borraccino, Singer Reimagined co-founder and creative director, describes the intent this way: “Heritage collection is our tribute to the soul of mechanical watchmaking, an ode to the enduring beauty of restoration done right.”
