Its listed dimensions are 38 mm across, 8.5 mm thick and 47 mm lug-to-lug; it uses a La Joux-Perret LJP7380 movement and has 50 m water resistance. Angelier Watches listed its three dial versions at €3,998 each and marked them sold out when checked on 8 October 2026. Availability can change.
Who is Paul Angelier?
Angelier’s route to making a watch began with collecting. In a 2025 interview with MONOCHROME Watches, he traced his interest from a childhood Swatch and early fascination with automatic Seiko watches to collecting Seiko divers and Japanese domestic-market models. He modified watches and later bought and sold them through Pange Watches.
Over time, he lost interest in parts of the trading business and became more interested in dress watches. The Classique grew from a gap he perceived between the watches available to him and the watch he wanted to wear: something refined and vintage-influenced, but slim, comfortable and practical enough for regular use.
What did Angelier want from a dress watch?
The brief was personal, not a universal definition of a dress watch. Angelier wanted proportions that would sit comfortably on his wrist, a hand-wound movement, and a dial without a date. He also wanted enough water resistance for daily wear, rather than treating the watch as too delicate to use.

- Dial: small seconds at six o’clock and no date.
- Movement: hand-wound.
- Use: at least 50 m water resistance.
He framed the goal as balancing vintage character with wearability, including avoiding the anxiety he associated with some expensive or precious-metal watches. That is his motivation for choosing a steel case, not a claim that steel is inherently more suitable for every wearer.
How does the finished Classique compare with that brief?
The official Sunburst Green product page lists the following specifications. They show how closely the published model matches Angelier’s stated dimensions and functional requirements; they do not establish how the watch will fit every wrist.

The product page also lists a two-year warranty and a 14-day withdrawal period. Check the seller’s page for the terms that apply at the time of purchase.
Why did the movement shape the design?
The movement was a core constraint rather than a final component choice. Angelier selected the hand-wound La Joux-Perret LJP7380, describing it in the interview as 2.7 mm thick and 30 mm in diameter, with small seconds in a position that worked for his dial. The official product page independently lists the calibre and a 90-hour power reserve.

Angelier contrasted the LJP7380 with the smaller ETA/Peseux 7001. His reasoning was that the LJP7380’s dimensions, appearance and seconds-hand placement better suited the watch he was designing. That is his design assessment, not an independent comparison or performance test of the movements.
How did Angelier develop the dial and case?
Angelier drew on pocket watches and watches from the 1930s through the 1950s for the dial’s vintage character. He says he drew and digitized the Arabic numerals himself, with Breguet-style numerals among the references. He also considered the length of the hands against the seconds track, along with the case’s side profile and the curve of its lugs.

Turning those ideas into a manufacturable design required technical help. After struggling with CAD software, he worked with his brother-in-law on the 3D models. The process illustrates how a personal visual brief has to become specific geometry—not just a mood board—before suppliers can make parts.

Small production runs can face component minimums that do not line up neatly with expected demand. Angelier told MONOCHROME Watches that some components required an order of at least 100 pieces, while other parts called for quantities as high as 500. Those were the minimums he reported during the 2025 interview; they do not confirm how many Classiques were ultimately made.

Demand was another uncertainty. Angelier cautioned that enthusiastic reactions from collectors do not necessarily become orders. That gap matters for an independent project: a maker may have to commit to supplier quantities before knowing whether interest will support the full run.
What versions, price and availability are listed?
On 8 October 2026, Angelier Watches’ official homepage listed Frosted Silver, Glossy Black and Sunburst Green at €3,998 each, with all three marked sold out. The official product page describes an original presale plan for a first run of 100 pieces, with production to begin after the presale window and delivery potentially taking upwards of seven months. That is the original framework, not a current delivery estimate or confirmation of a restock.
The Pange Horloges project page also records the Classique’s development and corroborates core specifications, including the dimensions, 20 mm strap attachment, water resistance and movement details. For current stock, the official Angelier store is the relevant source.

What to check if you are considering one
- Confirm whether a dial variant is actually available and whether the displayed price or sales terms have changed.
- Use the 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement as a starting point for fit, not a guarantee; wrist shape and lug curvature affect how a watch wears.
- If changing the strap, check the attachment and buckle details. The official page specifies a 20 mm Saffiano strap with quick-release spring bars, but that alone does not establish compatibility with every 20 mm strap.
- For delivery timing, warranty and withdrawal terms, rely on the seller’s current listing rather than the original presale description.
