There is no universal button sequence for setting every compact Casio digital watch. First identify the watch’s model or module number, then follow the matching Casio operation guide. For example, modules 1199/1220/1298 use buttons for time and date settings, while module 5743 uses a crown for those settings and its alarm.
Identify your Casio module before changing settings
- Find the model or module marking on the watch. Use that number to locate the matching guide on Casio’s support site.
- Check that the guide matches the module number. Button functions and setting sequences differ, so do not transfer steps from another Casio watch.
- Follow the guide’s procedure for the setting you want to change. The examples below apply only to the modules named in each section.
Set the time and date on modules 1199, 1220, and 1298
Casio’s official operation guide for modules 1199/1220/1298 describes a button-based procedure. Press button A to enter time-and-date setting mode, use button C to move between settings, and use buttons E and B to change values. Follow the guide’s displayed sequence for your watch; these button instructions are not a universal method for other modules.

Set the time and date on module 5743
Module 5743 uses a crown. Casio’s time adjustment guide for module 5743 gives this manual procedure:
- Pull the crown out to the second click.
- Hold button C for at least one second to enable minute setting.
- Turn the crown to set the minutes.
- Press button C to advance through the hour, year tens, year ones, month, and day settings; turn the crown to change each value.
- At a time signal, push the crown back in to finish.
Set the alarm on module 5743
For this module, the Casio alarm guide specifies a separate crown-based procedure:

- Enter Alarm Mode.
- Pull the crown out to the first click.
- Turn the crown to set the alarm time, then push it back in.
- Press button B to toggle the alarm on or off.
The alarm sounds for 10 seconds. Casio says it is muted when the battery is low or the watch is at Level 2 power saving.

Module 5743 supports manual adjustment and may also correct the time or day from a phone or a supported time signal. Availability depends on the watch model and the conditions for that correction method. Consult the relevant Casio guide for setup and requirements; do not assume phone or time-signal correction is available on a different compact Casio.
