If your Amazfit watch will not install an update—or stops syncing afterwards—troubleshoot the two problems separately. Keep the watch connected to your phone, retry the update from the exact model’s device page in Zepp, then use Zepp’s manual sync and connection steps. Menu paths and requirements vary by watch, so treat the model-specific examples below as examples, not universal instructions.
Before you troubleshoot: identify the watch and the failure
Note your exact Amazfit model, phone operating system, Zepp app version and any error message. Amazfit’s instructions differ by model, and the available support guidance does not establish one universal cause or fix for failed updates.

Keep the watch connected to your phone and open its device page in Zepp. On the Amazfit Balance 2, the update route is Device > Amazfit Balance 2 > General > Update, according to its official manual. Follow the route documented for your own model rather than assuming the same labels appear on every watch.

Retry with the phone and watch ready
For the GTS 2 Mini, Amazfit advises fully charging the watch or ensuring it has at least 10% battery before upgrading. Keep the phone screen on and avoid other operations on the phone during the upgrade. These are the GTS 2 Mini’s published instructions, not a confirmed battery rule for every Amazfit model. Check your watch’s own support page for its requirements.

Refresh Zepp on the phone
For a GTS 2 Mini update failure, Amazfit recommends signing out of Zepp and signing back in. If that does not help, uninstall and reinstall the app, then log in and reconnect the watch. Before reinstalling, make sure you know your account login details.
On Android, the same GTS 2 Mini guidance also recommends clearing Bluetooth shared data and app caches, then restarting the phone. The cache-clearing instructions are Android-specific; they are not a step to apply on iPhone.

If the update installs but the watch will not sync
Try a manual sync in Zepp
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and make sure Zepp is open.
- On Zepp’s home screen, pull down to trigger a manual sync.
- If syncing does not resume, force-close Zepp and reopen it.
Amazfit says syncing starts automatically when Bluetooth and Zepp are on for the cited Band 7 and GTS 2 Mini guidance. These steps are documented for those models; if your app looks different, use the sync instructions for your watch.

For the Band 7 and GTS 2 Mini, Amazfit says the app cannot sync data while the watch is recording a workout or playing music. Stop the workout recording or music playback, then retry the manual sync.

Check how the watch is paired
Pairing instructions are model-specific. The Amazfit Active manual says to pair through Zepp rather than directly through the phone’s Bluetooth settings. If you need to reconnect or pair again, follow the documented Zepp setup flow for your model; do not remove or re-pair every Amazfit watch using the phone’s Bluetooth menu by default.

If the model-specific update steps and Zepp sync steps do not work, contact Amazfit through its official support site. Include your watch model, phone operating system, Zepp version, the point where the process fails and the exact error text. The cited support instructions do not establish a factory reset as the standard next step for this particular problem, so avoid resetting the watch unless Amazfit’s guidance for your model recommends it.
