The setting method depends on which watch you own: the Tudor Black Bay GMT sets reference time and local time at separate crown positions, while the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT adjusts its GMT hand separately from the main hands. For the C63, use the handbook for your exact model and generation because crown-position numbers differ between editions.
First, identify what each hand and bezel displays
On the Tudor Black Bay GMT covered by Tudor’s instructions, the red 24-hour hand and minute hand indicate reference time; the regular hour and minute hands show local time. The rotating bezel can be used with the 24-hour hand to read a third time zone. Tudor’s product sheet identifies this model as reference 79830RB, with Manufacture Calibre MT5652 and a jumping local hour hand. The C63 Sealander GMT uses a fixed 24-hour bezel. Its GMT hand can indicate your current zone or another reference zone; its main hands can be set independently. Unscrew the winding crown and pull it fully out.

Turn the crown in either direction to set reference time, using the red 24-hour hand and minute hand.

Push the crown in one notch, then turn it in either direction to move the local hour hand in one-hour increments.

Push the crown back in and screw it down fully.
For a third-zone reading, rotate the bezel and read it against the 24-hour hand. Tudor’s tutorial describes this display and procedure; follow the watch’s own documentation if its reference differs from 79830RB.
Set the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT
The steps below follow Christopher Ward’s 2026 handbook. Its position numbers are counted after unscrewing the crown. An earlier C63 handbook uses a four-position description, so do not transfer position numbers across editions: match the handbook to your exact reference and use the stated function as well as the number.

Adjust the GMT hand

Unscrew the crown counter-clockwise. Position 1 is the winding position; wind clockwise if needed.

Pull the crown to position 2, the date/GMT setting position.

Turn the crown clockwise to move the GMT hand in one-hour increments to the desired 24-hour reference time.

Set the date
At position 2, turn the crown counter-clockwise to correct the date. Do not correct the date between 20:00 and 02:00: the mechanism may already be aligning to change it. Push the crown back in and tighten it fully after adjustment.
Set the main hands

Pull the crown to position 3. The seconds stop while you set the main hour and minute hands.

For precise setting, the handbook recommends passing the desired minute and then setting the hand backwards to it.

Push the crown back in and screw it down fully. The crown should sit flush when closed; tighten it before exposing the watch to water.

Set the C63 for travel
The 2026 handbook’s travel method puts destination time on the main hands and home or reference time on the GMT hand. For example, for travel from London to New York, five hours behind London, it sets the main hands to 7:10 and the GMT hand to 12:10 when the reference time is 12:10.

At position 3, set the main hour and minute hands to the destination’s local time.

Return the crown to position 2 and turn it clockwise to advance the GMT hand around the 24-hour scale to home or reference time.

These are different GMT architectures, not interchangeable procedures. On the C63, the 2026 handbook identifies the movement as Sellita SW330-2; the earlier handbook also identifies SW330-2. Those specifications do not change the need to follow the correct edition’s setting instructions.
