First, check the model or caliber number on the caseback: “Blue Angels” covers watches with different movements and controls. The steps below are for Citizen’s H800 World Chronograph A-T models, including the AT8020-54L. If your watch has a different caliber, find its matching instructions before operating the crown or buttons.

Check which Blue Angels movement you have
Do not identify the movement by the Blue Angels name alone. For example, the AT8020-54L Blue Angels World Chronograph A-T uses the H800 caliber. Citizen specifies a 1/20-second chronograph measuring up to 60 minutes, plus a perpetual calendar, 12/24-hour time, a power-reserve indicator, day/date, and time-zone adjustment. Set the time and calendar on an H800
These steps follow Citizen’s abbreviated instructions for the AT80** World Chronograph A-T H800 family. Confirm that your caseback identifies a matching model or caliber first. Button positions below refer to the upper-right and lower-right buttons when looking at the watch dial.
- Select a time zone: Pull the crown out one click. Turn it until the second hand points to the time zone nearest you. The hour, minute, and 24-hour hands move to show the stored time for that zone.
- Set daylight-saving time: Press and release the upper-right button to switch daylight-saving time on or off.
- Enter time-setting mode: Press and hold the upper-right button for two seconds, then release it. The hands indicate that the watch is ready for the setting sequence.
- Set local time: Pull the crown out one more click and turn it to adjust the time. Check the 24-hour hand to confirm whether the displayed time is AM or PM.
- Set the date: Press and release the upper-right button to advance to the date setting, then turn the crown to set the day of the month.
- Set the remaining calendar indicators: Continue using the upper-right button to advance and the crown to adjust the day of the week, month, and leap year as needed. Follow the dial indicators in the manual for your watch.
- Finish: Push the crown fully in.
The H800 is radio controlled, but synchronization is not guaranteed everywhere or on every attempt. Citizen notes that reception can fail because of time of day, weather, or radio interference. A manual reception attempt may take 2 to 30 minutes; keep the watch still while it runs. If it does not receive a signal, it continues operating without synchronization until a later successful update. See Citizen’s instructions for your model or caliber.

Use the H800 chronograph
The H800 chronograph measures up to 60 minutes in 1/20-second increments. With the crown pushed in, use the buttons in this sequence:
- Press and release the upper-right button to enter chronograph mode.
- Press the upper-right button again to start timing. Press it again to stop.
- Press the lower-right button to reset the measurement.
- Press the lower-right button again to leave chronograph mode and return to normal operation.
The 1/20-second subdial hand may stop moving after 30 seconds of timing. Citizen’s instructions say measurement continues in memory and is reflected when you stop the chronograph, so the hand stopping by itself is not necessarily a fault.

If your watch does not respond as described
- The controls or display differ: Stop and check the caseback for the model or caliber. Look up that identifier in Citizen’s setting-instruction search; do not apply H800 steps to a U680 Skyhawk or another movement.
- The display or function is abnormal, or the watch has completely lost charge: Citizen’s abbreviated H800 instructions call for an all-reset and zero-positioning procedure, followed by setting the time and date again. Use the complete manual for the correct caliber or contact Citizen support rather than trying an improvised reset. Find the matching Citizen manual.
