Casio watches do not share one universal “face feature” setting. If your watch’s display changes or animates, you may mean Active Display on modules 3164/3250 or 3165/3251. If you want a different current-time screen, module 3516 calls those screens watch faces and uses a separate menu. Check the module number on the case back before following any button sequence.
First, identify what “face feature” means on your watch
The module number on the back of the watch helps match it to the right operation guide. The controls below apply only to the listed modules; do not assume they work on another Casio model.

- Modules 3164/3250 and 3165/3251: the manuals describe an Active Display setting and display styles.
- Module 3516: the manual describes three current-time-screen patterns called watch faces.
Choose the instructions that match the number on your watch. If it is not one of these modules, find its matching Casio operation guide rather than trying a sequence from another model.

Turn off Active Display on modules 3164/3250
- In Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the seconds begin flashing to open the setting screen.
- Press C seven times until the Active Display on/off screen appears.
- Press D to turn Active Display off; the display shows OF.
- Press A to exit the setting screen.

Turn off Active Display on modules 3165/3251
- In Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the seconds begin flashing.
- Press C seven times to display the Active Display on/off screen.
- Press D to toggle the setting off; the display shows OF.
- Press A to exit.
The operation guide for modules 3165/3251 documents this sequence.
Choose a display style after turning Active Display off
For either module family above, when Active Display is off, press A in Timekeeping Mode to cycle through styles 1 to 5. The guides note that you cannot select a style while Active Display is on.

If Style 6 is showing when you turn Active Display off from the setting screen, the watch changes the display to Style 2 automatically. This behavior is documented for both module families.

- Hold C for at least two seconds to enter Control Mode.
- Select SETTING, then open WATCH SETTINGS.
- Choose WATCH FACE, select the preferred face, and press A to complete.

If the controls or labels do not match
- Check the module number printed on the case back against the guide before proceeding.
- Confirm that you are in Timekeeping Mode for the Active Display procedures; module 3516 starts from the current time screen.
- If your module number differs, use its own operation guide. The Active Display button sequence and the 3516 watch-face menu are not universal Casio controls.
