Find the module number on the case back or in your paperwork, then use the matching Casio operation guide. The steps below are a clearly labeled example for module 5338.
Find the correct instructions for your watch
Casio analog-digital watches can use different mode orders, button functions, alarm options, and timer ranges. Check the number on the case back or in the watch’s paperwork and open the guide for that module. If your watch is not a 5338, use the example below only as a general orientation, not as a guaranteed button sequence.

How do I set the alarm on a Casio watch?
Module 5338 example
- Press C until Alarm Mode appears.
- Hold A until the alarm time flashes.
- Press C to move between the hour and minute fields.
- Press D to increase the selected value or B to decrease it.
- Press A to leave setting mode.
After setting the time, verify that the alarm is enabled. Setting an alarm time and turning the alarm on are separate steps; check the 5338 guide for its on/off controls and display indicator. The exact procedure and available alarm types vary by module. For instance, the 3198/3299 guide documents five alarms, each configurable as daily or one-time, as well as an hourly signal. Those options should not be assumed on other models.
How do I use the stopwatch on a Casio watch?
Module 5338 example
- Press C until Stopwatch Mode appears.
- Press D to start elapsed-time measurement.
- Press D again to stop. Press D once more to resume.
- After stopping the measurement, press A to reset it.
The 5338 guide also describes split-time and two-finisher measurements. Consult that guide for the button sequence for those functions rather than assuming the basic start-and-stop sequence covers them.

How do I set and start the countdown timer?
Module 5338 example
- Press C until Countdown Timer Mode appears. If the configured start time is not displayed, use the guide’s timer procedure to restore it.
- Hold A until the start time flashes.
- Press C to select the hours or minutes field.
- Use D to increase or B to decrease the selected value.
- Press A to exit setting mode.
- Press D to start the countdown. Press D to stop or resume it; press A to reset it to the configured starting value.
On module 5338, the countdown can be set from one minute to 24 hours. Casio states that the timer sounds an alarm when the countdown reaches zero. The 24-hour setting uses a displayed start time of 0:00.
Why your Casio’s timer or controls may differ
Use your own module guide for the exact timer range and options. For example, module 5628 has a one-to-60-minute countdown timer and supports auto-repeat and a progress beeper, which are not specifications to attribute to module 5338 or to Casio analog-digital watches generally. On module 5338, C cycles through Timekeeping, World Time, Alarm, Stopwatch, and Countdown Timer modes, then repeats. Check the display label after each press so you know which mode is active. Other modules may have a different order or different button labels and controls.
