Huawei’s China product page now confirms that the Watch D2 is registered there as a Class II medical device for wrist ambulatory blood-pressure recording. The certificate is 粤械注准 20242071034. That confirms the central claim in an August 2024 leak—but the registration is for the blood-pressure recorder, not every health feature on the smartwatch, and it is not global approval.
What the 2024 report alleged
On August 16, 2024, GizmoChina reported that a Weibo leak attributed to tipster @UncleKanshan showed a Chinese medical-device listing for a “Wrist Ambulatory Blood Pressure Recorder.” The listing reportedly named models LCA-B10, LCA-B11 and LCA-B12, but did not identify the product as the Watch D2. The report connected it to Huawei’s blood-pressure-monitoring watch based on the apparent successor and function; at the time, that identification was an inference, not a Huawei announcement or a directly cited public regulator document. GizmoChina’s original report preserves that distinction.
What Huawei confirms now
Huawei’s current China product page identifies the Watch D2 as having a Class II medical-device registration certificate and lists the number 粤械注准 20242071034. Huawei describes the registered product as a wrist ambulatory blood-pressure recorder. It also says the product received a measuring-instrument type-approval certificate. These are distinct approvals; Huawei’s wording does not make every smartwatch function a regulated medical function. Huawei’s China Watch D2 page is the official source for the product’s stated status.
What the registered blood-pressure function covers
Huawei says the registered function measures systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and pulse rate. It supports a single reading or measurements at preset intervals over 24 hours, with the wearer stationary or at rest. The resulting day-and-night readings, trends and averages are intended for healthcare professionals to reference and analyze—not for the watch to diagnose a condition or prescribe treatment. The stated registered use is for adults aged 18 and over. Huawei’s China product page specifies a 26.5 mm mechanical airbag. A miniature pump inflates the airbag built into the strap, while a pressure sensor supports the measurement. That cuff-based mechanism differs from blood-pressure estimates based only on optical signals. Measurements depend on correct positioning and remaining still; repeated inflation can also be uncomfortable for some wearers.
What the registration does not cover
The certificate should not be read as blanket medical approval for the whole Watch D2. Huawei separately promotes indicators and assessments including heart rate, blood oxygen, pulse-wave arrhythmia analysis, sleep-apnea detection, high-blood-sugar risk assessment, temperature and stress-related indicators, ECG-related information, emotional- and ovarian-health assessments, and its “Micro Examination” report. The registration also does not show that every reading will match a clinical upper-arm monitor, establish suitability for every clinical situation, or authorize users to diagnose themselves, change medication, or skip medical evaluation. Huawei’s page states the intended professional-reference use; users with medical concerns should follow their clinician’s guidance.
China registration is not worldwide approval
The certificate number is a Chinese registration, and its status should not be generalized to other countries. Huawei’s UK product page separately discusses CE-MDR certification for certain Watch D2 functions and notes that availability may vary with local medical-device rules. That is a separate regulatory context, not an extension of the Chinese certificate. Huawei UK’s Watch D2 page provides its market-specific wording. Buyers outside China should check the local product page, supported functions, warranty and regulatory status rather than assume a China-market unit has the same configuration or permissions.

What this means for buyers in China
The registration makes the Watch D2’s blood-pressure function more than an unverified leak: Huawei identifies a specific Class II certificate and a defined recorder use. It may suit an adult who wants wearable single and scheduled blood-pressure monitoring and understands that readings are for professional reference. It is not a substitute for a clinician-directed monitoring plan or a conventional upper-arm monitor when medically important measurements are needed.
Huawei’s China page showed a starting price of ¥2,988 when checked on August 16, 2026; this is a listed price signal, not a guaranteed street price. The page also describes bundled membership and health-service benefits, whose eligibility and activation terms should be checked before purchase. Huawei support says availability of some health-research functions depends on the paired phone system and software; some are unavailable with iOS, and report-sharing or saving capabilities may depend on HarmonyOS or software updates.
