Renders attributed to SpillSomeBeans showed 41 mm and 46 mm models, a rotating crown, a second side button, stainless-steel construction, AMOLED displays, and 5 ATM water resistance. Huawei later confirmed the two-size lineup and most of those core details when it officially unveiled the Watch GT 5 series on September 19, 2024.
That does not mean every leaked specification was reliable. Battery figures, colors, pricing, and some health features varied by model, market, software version, or source. The original material should therefore be treated as apparently official-looking leaked imagery—not as an authenticated Huawei specification sheet.

What the leaked Huawei Watch GT 5 renders showed
The pre-launch report published on September 14, 2024, showed the Watch GT 5 in two case sizes: 41 mm and 46 mm. That was consistent with Huawei’s previous GT-series approach and turned out to be one of the leak’s strongest predictions.

Coverage around September 16 continued to describe the product and its specifications as leaked or expected rather than confirmed. Huawei’s product event in Barcelona on September 19 provided the later reference point for checking those claims.

41 mm versus 46 mm design
The leaked 46 mm model appeared to use a bolder, more angular bezel treatment, described in coverage as an octagonal-style design. The 41 mm version had a more conventional jewelry-watch appearance, with a styling direction intended to look less overtly sporty.
The renders also showed different color treatments. The 41 mm imagery was associated with Jana Blue and Jana Gold, while a black version was shown for the 46 mm model. These are best understood as colors visible in the leak, not as a universal list of configurations. Huawei states that color and trim availability can differ by country or region.
Controls, case and water resistance
Both the renders and later official material showed a rotating crown and a secondary button on the right side of the case. The crown can provide a more traditional watch-like way to scroll or interact with the interface, while the additional side button can be assigned to supported functions.

The leak reports described a metal bezel, stainless-steel body, and 5 ATM water resistance. Huawei later officially specified a stainless-steel front case and a high-performance fiber-reinforced composite rear case, along with a 5 ATM rating.
There is an important limitation here: 5 ATM does not mean the watch is suitable for diving to 50 meters. Huawei’s specification page explains that the rating is based on laboratory pressure testing under ISO 22810:2010 and does not represent a usable diving depth. Huawei formally unveiled the Watch GT 5 series at its September 19, 2024 product event in Barcelona. The company’s official Levant specification page confirms the following core hardware details.

The 46 mm version is physically larger and heavier, with the bigger 1.43-inch display. Both versions use a 466 × 466 resolution, although the same pixel count across different screen sizes means the smaller model has a higher pixel density.

Huawei’s official specifications list an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, optical heart-rate sensor, barometer, temperature sensor, and ambient-light sensor. The page also confirms the rotating crown, side button, and wireless charging system shown or reported before launch.
Compatibility is listed as Android 9.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later. Compatibility does not necessarily mean every feature behaves identically on Android and iPhone. Phone permissions, Huawei Health support, regional services, and software updates can affect the experience.
Which leak details proved accurate?
Comparing the September 14 reports with Huawei’s later specifications supports a fairly strong conclusion: the leak was substantially accurate on the product’s visible identity, but not necessarily on every detail.
Details that were broadly validated
- Two case sizes: Huawei released 41 mm and 46 mm Watch GT 5 models.
- Overall design split: The larger model used a more assertive, angular design language, while the smaller model presented a dressier look.
- Rotating crown and side button: Both were confirmed in Huawei’s official specifications.
- AMOLED displays: The final products use 1.32-inch and 1.43-inch AMOLED panels.
- Stainless-steel construction: Huawei confirmed a stainless-steel front case.
- 5 ATM water resistance: The rating appeared in the leak reporting and the final official specifications.
This is an inference based on comparing the leaked reports with Huawei’s later documentation. It is not proof that the source had access to a complete final specification sheet.
Details that should remain qualified
- Battery life: Theoretical endurance depends on case size, configuration, settings, use patterns, software, and regional claims. Do not treat a single leaked number as universal real-world battery life.
- Colors: Jana Blue, Jana Gold, and black were shown or reported, but Huawei’s actual availability varies by country and model.
- Pricing: Any pre-launch price should be checked against the launch market and date. A leaked price is not a current price or a global price.
- Health features: Reports discussed possible improvements and a Health Glance function, but availability depends on market, software, and regulatory approval.
- Additional durability and battery claims: The Chinese product listing includes specifications that should not automatically be generalized to every international SKU.
Health features: useful sensors, not a medical diagnosis
The Watch GT 5 has a broad sensor platform and Huawei markets health-management and fitness functions around it. However, wearable readings should be treated as wellness information rather than a diagnosis or substitute for clinical testing.

The Chinese listing for the 41 mm configuration identifies some functions that are not supported there, including ECG analysis, blood-pressure measurement, and blood-glucose risk assessment. That distinction matters: a product page may describe a feature family or health platform while a particular model, country, software build, or regulatory environment limits what users can actually access.
Before buying for a specific health-related function, check the product page for your country and the current Huawei Health software documentation. Do not use the watch to make medical decisions without advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Regional specifications need careful reading
The official Chinese listing adds details such as a 323 mAh battery for the 41 mm model, a theoretical maximum battery life of seven days for that configuration, IP69K, NFC, satellite positioning, and more than 100 sports modes. Those claims are useful evidence about that listed configuration, but they should be attributed to the Chinese listing rather than presented as identical across every global Watch GT 5 model.
Huawei itself warns that theoretical specifications may differ from actual products and that color and configuration availability varies by region. The safest buying process is to compare the exact model number, case size, strap, included accessories, software support, and local specification page—not just the headline name “Watch GT 5.”
Which size should a buyer choose?
Choose the 41 mm model if:
- You prefer a lighter watch at approximately 35 g without the strap.
- You have a smaller wrist or want a less prominent case.
- You prefer the dressier styling shown in the launch materials.
- A 1.32-inch display is sufficient for notifications, workouts, and watch functions.
Choose the 46 mm model if:
- You want the larger 1.43-inch display.
- You prefer a more angular, sportier visual design.
- The larger 45.8 mm case and approximately 48 g unstrapped weight are comfortable for you.
- You value more screen area for reading information during exercise or general use.
Neither size is automatically the better watch. The decision is mainly a combination of wrist comfort, visual preference, display size, and the exact battery and feature configuration sold in your market.

Huawei sells dedicated Watch GT 5 Series straps in several styles, including composite, fluoroelastomer, Milanese, and leather options. If you are replacing the original strap or changing the look, match the band to the 41 mm or 46 mm case before ordering. A band made for one size should not be assumed to fit the other.

The renders were apparently official-looking but not independently authenticated, and leaked battery, pricing, colors, and health claims were never enough to establish a universal final specification. For buyers, Huawei’s official regional listing—not the September 2024 leak—is the authority to use when checking the exact configuration, supported health functions, included strap, and current availability.
