Choose the Ianos Amfivios if titanium, its stated 56-hour power reserve, and a distinctive fixed strap channel suit your priorities. Choose the DOXA SUB 300 Divingstar if you value COSC chronometer certification, its dual depth-and-dive-time bezel, and the option of a beads-of-rice bracelet or rubber strap. Both makers rate these specific watches to 300 m / 30 ATM, but that shared rating is not evidence of identical real-world performance.

What matters most in daily wear?
Material and dimensions
The Amfivios is the titanium option; the cited Divingstar is stainless steel. Ianos lists a smaller diameter for its watch, but its 49 mm lug-to-lug measurement is longer than the DOXA’s listed 45 mm case length. Those figures describe different dimensions, and they do not by themselves establish which watch will fit a particular wrist better. Try them on if possible, paying attention to how the case sits and how the strap or bracelet feels.
Strap architecture
The Amfivios’s fixed bars and integrated channel are central to its design: it comes on a single-pass rubber strap fitted through that channel. The Divingstar listing instead offers a beads-of-rice bracelet or rubber strap. If you expect to change straps often or prefer a metal bracelet, the DOXA’s listed options may be the more practical starting point; check compatibility before buying any replacement.

How do their movements and bezels differ?
Reserve and certification
Ianos identifies the Amfivios movement as a Sellita SW360-1 and states a 56-hour power reserve. DOXA states a 38-hour reserve for the SUB 300 movement and identifies it as COSC-certified. The reserve figures are maker claims, not measurements from an independent timekeeping test of these watches.
Two different bezel displays
Ianos specifies a 120-position countdown bezel. DOXA describes the SUB 300 bezel as displaying both dive time in minutes and depth in meters, a feature associated with the line’s design. These displays serve different reading approaches; neither substitutes for dive training, a dive computer, or established dive procedures. DOXA’s SUB 300 history and product description.

What does the 300 m rating tell you?
Both manufacturers list 300 m / 30 ATM water resistance for the specific watches covered here; DOXA also gives 984 ft. A shared manufacturer rating does not establish that the watches have identical construction, independently verified pressure-test results, or equal performance in use. No independent pressure test or dive trial is available for this comparison.
How much do they cost?
Ianos displays CHF 2,050 excluding VAT for the Amfivios. DOXA’s US product page displays USD 2,890 for the cited SUB 300 Divingstar. Because the figures are in different currencies and have different tax contexts, compare local checkout totals—including applicable taxes and shipping—rather than treating the listed amounts as like-for-like prices. Prices and availability can change. Ianos listing; DOXA US listing.

How much weight should you give their histories?
Ianos describes the Amfivios as the civilian sibling of its OYK watch, which the company says was commissioned for Greece’s Underwater Demolition Command. That is Ianos’s account of the watch’s origin, not independent military documentation. Ianos says the Amfivios was presented in summer 2025. Ianos’s account of the Amfivios.
DOXA says the SUB concept launched in 1967 and connects the line’s identity to the dual depth-and-dive-time scale. Those historical details are the brand’s own account. DOXA’s SUB history.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Ianos Amfivios if you want a grade 2 titanium case, value its stated 56-hour reserve, and like the fixed strap channel and single-pass rubber configuration.
- Choose the DOXA SUB 300 Divingstar if COSC certification, the historical DOXA bezel design, and the option of a beads-of-rice bracelet or rubber strap matter more to you.
- Try both on if fit is the deciding factor: the listed diameter, lug-to-lug, and case-length figures are not interchangeable measurements, and no wrist-fit comparison has been conducted.
The comparison covers manufacturer claims for the Amfivios and the specific DOXA SUB 300 Divingstar listing, with independent reporting on core Amfivios specifications from Fratello. Neither watch has been physically handled or independently tested for accuracy, lume, durability, pressure resistance, or dive performance in this comparison.
