Its design makes the goals visible; it does not, by itself, prove environmental impact. The material and emissions figures are company claims, and the reviewed pages do not establish independent verification of the SDG model’s performance.
What is the ID Genève SDG watch?
It is a special edition of ID Genève’s Circular C, created with Swiss circular-material company CompPair. The dial adapts the SDG colour wheel through warm gradient tones on the minute track and blue hour markers. Each caseback is numbered from 1 to 17, linking the edition’s planned size to the 17 goals.
ID Genève says the edition is allocated through an application process. Applicants are asked to show a personal commitment that reflects the goal represented by their watch. The launch story does not specify detailed selection criteria or a closing date. ID Genève’s launch story describes the collaboration and application process.
How many will be made, and what does it cost?
ID Genève says the run is 17 watches. The brand’s Circular C listing, accessed October 8, 2026, starts at CHF 8,500; VAT and customs duties are excluded, and acquisition is listed as on request. Price and availability can change, so confirm both directly with ID Genève. The listing does not establish how many pieces remain available or whether every application will be accepted. How does the self-healing material work?
ID Genève says the dial, side decorations and bezel use 100% reprocessed carbon fibres from wind-turbine manufacturing waste. Its product listing says the composite returns to its original state after one minute of heating. The launch story identifies the material as CompPair’s HealTech and describes it as regenerative carbon that can self-heal from damage.
These are manufacturer statements, not independently demonstrated results in the reviewed material. The available pages do not specify the heating temperature, the damage conditions, how many repair cycles are possible, or whether the one-minute claim applies to every kind of damage. Treat “self-healing” as the brand’s description of the material, not as a claim that the watch repairs itself during ordinary wear.

- Confidently go from work to play with the new Weekender Sport. Featuring a rose gold-tone stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter, the sports-focused timepiece makes use of sharp lines and contrasting styling to make a statement on the wrist.
- A faceted 60-minute bezel, H-link bracelet, and 100m water resistance ensure all-purpose wear.
- On the dial, a textured green display is presented, with applied indices in bright white alongside a 3 o'clock date window providing high legibility and daily utility.
- Featuring Citizen's Eco-Drive technology, sustainably powered by any light and never needs a battery. Caliber number E111.
Is the watch actually sustainable?
The evidence supports a narrower conclusion than “proven sustainable.” The design references the SDGs, and the brand reports use of reprocessed carbon fibre and a heat-responsive composite. Those are relevant design and material claims, but they do not establish that this particular watch achieves a measurable SDG outcome or has a verified lower lifecycle impact.
ID Genève’s impact page gives figures for other, broader scopes, not identified as results for the SDG edition:

- Quartz movement: Powered by a reliable quartz movement with a stainless steel case back for accurate, dependable timekeeping.
- 3ATM water resistant & luminous: Luminous hands make the dial easy to read in low light. 3ATM water resistance helps protect against splashes and rain—not for swimming or showering. Includes a link removal tool for band adjustment.
- Versatile for every occasion: A business-casual design that moves easily from the office to weekends. Comes in an elegant gift box, making it a great gift for birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries.
- OLEVS men's watches: 30-day free returns and a 12-month warranty. If you have any questions, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
- 54% fewer emissions: ID Genève compares its Circular S collection with an equivalent conventional watch. This is the company’s comparison, and the page does not state that it applies to the SDG edition.
- 8.6% virgin materials: ID Genève reports this share for Circular S timepieces against a 2024 baseline, not specifically for the SDG edition.
- 2.13 kg CO₂eq avoided per watch sold: ID Genève states this comparison against a standard watch. The page does not identify it as an SDG-edition result.
The ID Genève impact page does not display enough methodology in the cited figures to independently assess the comparisons. The reviewed pages also do not establish an independently audited lifecycle assessment or independent verification of the SDG watch’s recycled-content and self-healing claims.

ID Genève says 10% of proceeds will go directly to projects advancing the UN goals. The launch story does not name the recipient projects, explain the calculation basis for “proceeds,” or report that a payment has been made. The stated commitment therefore cannot be treated as a documented donation already delivered.
