Nectere’s Order From Chaos is a three-model mechanical watch collection built around an asymmetrical stainless-steel case and layered, irregular dial textures. The Dune, Forest, and Mist versions share the same reported dimensions and hand-wound Seagull movement; their main differences are dial and strap colors. Fratello Watches reported the collection’s Kickstarter launch in April 2025, but that launch-era coverage does not establish whether the watches are available to buy now.
What is Nectere’s Order From Chaos?
Order From Chaos is Nectere’s first watch collection. Fratello Watches reported that the Hong Kong brand was initiated by James Wong and Tony Yip. The collection’s name draws on the butterfly effect: the idea that a small event can produce larger consequences. Fratello also connects “Nectere” to a Latin verb meaning “to bind.”

The design translates that theme into a watch that departs from a conventional round outline. Its asymmetrical steel case is paired with several dial finishes that radiate from the lower-left area. That combination is the collection’s defining feature; whether the dial looks compelling or busy is a matter of taste.
How do Dune, Forest, and Mist differ?
| Model | Dial | Strap |
|---|---|---|
| Dune | Salmon | Taupe leather |
| Forest | Green | Black leather |
| Mist | Silver | Green leather |
Fratello reports that the three variants otherwise share the collection’s case and movement specifications. Reviewer Daan de Groot favored Mist, while describing his overall reaction as mixed: he appreciated the originality and case design but found the dial busy. That is one reviewer’s impression, not a consensus or a technical finding.

What are the case and dial like?
The reported stainless-steel case measures 40.5 mm across, 38 mm long, and 10 mm thick including its domed sapphire crystal; its thickness without the crystal is 8.5 mm. Because the case is asymmetrical, its length as well as its width is useful when judging how much space it may occupy on the wrist. Fratello’s reviewer said it wore better than its unusual outline might suggest.
The case has a stepped, ripple-like bezel profile and brushed sides. A small sapphire window in the case back offers a view of the movement, and the back is secured with four screws.
Each dial brings together three treatments: a concentric-grained small-seconds register, a sunburst center, and an engraved outer ring. Fratello describes the sunburst and engraving as radiating from the lower-left area. The hour markers are printed. The mix of finishes gives the watch visual complexity, though it may not suit someone who prefers a restrained dial.
What movement and practical specifications does it have?
| Specification | Reported detail |
|---|---|
| Movement | Hand-wound Seagull ST17 |
| Functions | Hours, minutes, and small seconds |
| Frequency | 21,600 vibrations per hour |
| Power reserve | 39 hours |
| Water resistance | 3 ATM / 30 meters |
The 3 ATM / 30-meter rating is the figure reported by Fratello; it should not be read as confirmation that the watch is suitable for swimming or other water activities.

What straps does it use?
Fratello reports leather straps 18 mm wide, with 18/16 mm sizing, quick-release spring bars, and pin buckles. Those measurements may help when looking for alternatives, but they do not by themselves confirm that a replacement strap will fit correctly. Check the watch’s attachment dimensions and the replacement’s compatibility before ordering.
What did the 2025 launch coverage report?
Fratello published its coverage on April 19, 2025, the day after the reported Kickstarter launch. At that point, the campaign had met its funding goal. The article listed a Kickstarter price of US$475 and an intended regular price of US$720, and reported 175 pieces per color. These are historical, launch-era figures—not confirmation of current pricing, remaining stock, or ongoing sales.
Fratello reviewer Daan de Groot wrote, “It’s nice to get a hand-wound mechanical watch with such an original case shape at this price.” The comment reflects his view of the watch in the context of its reported launch price.
Is the collection available now?
Current availability, present-day pricing, authorized sales channels, and live marketplace listings are not established by the April 2025 coverage. Treat the reported Kickstarter and regular prices as historical context, and confirm directly with Nectere or a seller before making a purchase decision. The product description and launch details in this article are based on Fratello Watches’ April 19, 2025 article.
