What is the Atelier Wen × Revolution Ancestra Yáo?
Yáo is the second variation of Atelier Wen’s Ancestra design, created with Revolution. Atelier Wen announced it on 18 November 2025 in connection with the brand’s first Dubai Watch Week participation, Revolution Media’s 20th anniversary and the launch year of Revolution Arabia. These are the collaboration’s launch contexts, rather than specifications of the watch.

The design brings together a richly textured enamel dial and a rounded, sculptural steel case. Atelier Wen and Revolution describe the aesthetic through references to Hongshan jade carvings, fine fabrics traded between China and the Middle East, and the Arabian Peninsula’s sand tones. Those references express the brands’ stated inspiration.
How is the gratté enamel dial made?
The dial begins with a 925 fine-silver base. Atelier Wen says craftspeople at Kong Lingjun’s Beijing workshop used a custom tool with eight distinct blades to abrade the treated metal and form deeper gratté grooves. Multiple translucent grand feu enamel layers are then applied and fired over the texture, producing a fumé gradient from pale sand at the centre to chocolate at the edge.

Because each dial is individually fired, Revolution says subtle variations can occur from one example to another. The effect is therefore not simply a printed gradient: the visible colour sits over an abraded metallic surface, with the underlying grooves contributing texture.

The movement bridge’s manuscript is 天问 (Tiān Wèn), the title of a poem to which Atelier Wen connects the collection’s design language. The case, meanwhile, takes inspiration from Hongshan jade carvings. These are the makers’ stated design references, not claims that the watch reproduces a historical object.

The published order period was exclusive to Revolution, opening on 18 November 2025 at noon GST and closing on 27 November 2025 at 23:59 GST. The stated price was US$5,850 before taxes and duties, and Atelier Wen announced planned delivery in late 2026. Those were the terms of the historical offer; the order window has passed.
The available brand and retailer materials do not establish whether Revolution has remaining inventory, whether examples are available elsewhere, or whether deliveries have been completed.
